This is a 1991 Taurus Police vehicle. 3.8 Ltr. 6 Cyl. Goos gas milage. Recently serviced: breaks, exhaust, head gasket, alternator. Good tires. Starts and runs well. This type was used on "ROBO COP".I purchased the vehicle from a Michigan county sheriff's department at about 75,000 miles. Driven only in good weather. Sheriff Deputies did not like to drive it as it was hard riding with 15" wheels. I installed the 16 inch Ford mag wheels. I removed the semi-dual exhaust when serviced and installed the single exhaust to save money. I had the front of the louvered grill chromed. The hood has factory louvers. Ford provided a limited amount of police cars to various agencies for test purposes. This car has always used synthetic oil and had synthetic tranny fluid in it. When moving the transmission lever from park, reverse, neutral to drive there will be a moment of play before the transmission engages. This issue has been with the transmission since day one. I have that issue with my current Taurus and expect it will not be a problem. There has been Bondo done on the rocker panels, poor job, should be re-done. There is rust on the vehicle and antenna holed on the roof which are sealed with the waterproof antenna mounts. Need to only screw in the CB,or cell-phone antenna and you will have a good pre-wired setup. This car has Mickey Thompson driving/fog lights which will come on with bright lights or by it self, depending on switch. This will make a great car for restoration.
