1978 F100 Ranger XLT 302 / C6 long bed 2 Wheel Drive This could make a really nice truck. Bought it in 2007 w/ 136000 miles. Truck is complete and mostly original. . Here is the good and the bad that I know. The truck runs / drives pretty good though it does have an oil leak (rear main or pan gasket I think) , it will need the trans rebuilt ( slow to go into drive when cold - good to go once warm ) , has little play in frontend , It was painted right before I got it , paint still looks decent. The cab is very solid , the bed is starting to bubble where the patch panels were seamed and the bottom of the bed has some holes . The passenger door has little rust on the bottom. The tailgate latch doesn't work. Interior is original in fair shape with some fading , seat needs covered ( see pictures ) Plastic center in grill is broken , outside aluminum shell is good Front and rear bumpers ok A/C is complete but blows warm air ( did work when I bought it ) Will need tires and rear brake work ( rusted line maybe ) I replaced the radiator , water pump , thermostat and hoses in 2007. Replaced blower motor and heater core in 2010. Haven't done much else to it. It is pretty much the way I bought it .
