Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1965 Lincoln Convertible.  I have a clean Indiana title in my personal name.  I purchased the car out of an estate. The odometer reads 53,000 + miles. I was told the milage is actual, but since the car was from an estate, I was not able to get a title stating milage actual. The former owners had the car for 18 years. The Lincoln drives very well. Engine sounds great, and the transmission shifts as you would expect it to without problems. The top works well. I have not had any issues every time I have used it.  The seats look to be the original leather. They have creases in them, and they also have some splits in the leather as you will see in the photos.  Carpet looks great, and the top doesn't have rips or tears, paint has a good shine, but there are chip repairs with touch-up paint.  The car is a nice summer fun driver. You can't take it to car shows and compete against trailer queens.  If you looking for a show winner, this is not the car. It's a nice solid driver.     The power seat on the drivers side works. The one on the passenger side works on and off. It is being looked at this week. The windows all work except the right front. The service records that I received with the car indicate that a new motor was installed in the front passengers door back in '07. Looking into that windows problem. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding. I will get the question answered ASAP.                       Please note... the cars sides have some dings, and are wavy in some areas. I feel the sides look better in the photos than they do in person, but that can be said for a lot of cars that you see advertised. While the paint does have a good shine, it does have some chips that have been touched-up. Also, note that the bumper end is out a little at the bottom. Remember... the car isn't a showboat, but it is in nice driver condition.       All of the glass looks good, and from what I can see it is all correct for the brand.          The car has real good eye appeal.         The door handles have some spider webbing, but are not pitted.         Please note the top of the back seats leather.  It has some cracking and a few splits. Again I mention that in my opinion, the leather is original. Since the car is a convertible, I am not surprised the leather has cracks and splits. If I am correct about it being original, it looks good for leather that is 46 years old.       Note the scratches on the bumper end.      Notice the ding in the center section.      It is difficult to see, but the trunk lid has some small indentations. I looks as if something was sitting on the car. The plastic top rear window is fairly clear. I have no problem seeing out the rear window when driving.                   The top is in good condition. No rips or tears.          The corner of the top is wrinkled due to it being down for a few weeks.             The paint inperfections are difficult to see in the photos.                    THE TOP WORKS AS IT SHOULD. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ISSUES.                                                 The carpet looks very good in the front and back. No rips and tears.                      The trunk looks very nice. All of the material is in place, and doesn't have rips and tears. I have a photo of the jack. All of the jack pieces are not pictured, but come with the car.                 The gray plastic cover on the drivers side of the trunk is missing. It covers  one of the trunk cylinders. I am trying to find one.              NOW I WILL TAKE YOU WHERE MOST PEOPLE ONLY WANT TO TALK ABOUT.... THE DREADED UNDERCARRIAGE.            I have not touched the underside. I didn't spray it with cans of undercoating or paint. I want you to see exactly how it looks. You can paint the underside later, but see what your getting now. This cars undercarriage is in very nice condition as you will get to see. You will notice some surface rust only. The floor boards, and frame are solid. The rockers look original, and you can see what look like the factory drain holes in the rockers. The underside of all four doors are also solid. Look the photos over carefully, and if you have questions, please ask before you place a bid.                                                                                           On Nov-30-11 at 06:21:24 PST, seller added the following information:         .....ATTENTION.....ATTENTION.....ATTENTION....          I HAVE 13 PAGES OF SERVICE RECORDS THAT GO WITH THIS CAR. FOR SOME REASON I CAN'T DOWNLOAD THEM TO THE AD.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM, PLEASE SEND ME YOUR  E-MAIL ADDRESS, AND I WILL SEND THEM ON. THEY CONTAIN ALL OF THE PARTS THAT HAVE BEEN REPLACED... Yes I will. Here is how it will have to work. I will only accept wire transfer of funds sent directly to my bank. Once the funds are received the car and all paperwork can be picked. Al shipping cost will be paid by the buyer. That also goes for domestic buyers. I will not accept cashiers checks or personal checks of any kind. If you have any other questions, please ask. Thanks,     On Dec-01-11 at 17:33:00 PST, seller added the following information: Here are some photos of vehicle ID tag located on the drivers door.       On Dec-01-11 at 17:41:59 PST, seller added the following information: On Dec-02-11 at 20:02:55 PST, seller added the following information:   Just to let you know that the power antenna has been repaired and works as it should. Also, the interior lights on all of the doors work, including the glovebox light. All except the drivers door. Still tracking down the drivers door glitch.       On Dec-04-11 at 09:04:40 PST, seller added the following information: I have had a few questions concerning the milage.  The milage listed in the ad reads 58,000..... THAT IS NOT CORRECT..... The milage on the cars odometer is 53,600 and some change.  The title that is in my name reads EXEMPT..   Getting the car from an estate made it impossible to have the milage read  ACTUAL... I did find a receipt from Midas muffler dated 1989, and the milage was listed reading 33K and some change. Interestingly all 12 of the service receipts that I have do not have the milage listed at time of service. Judging from the condition of the car, I find it hard to believe the car has 153,000 miles.     Questions about the door and trunk rubber weather strips.... they are in very good condition.. not dryed and cracked.     As I mentioned earlier in my additional information........ I will e-mail the copies of the service records if you send your e-mail address..... but for those that would rather I list some of the items replaced here goes ...... I will list the most important items. Here are just some of the them...0n 9-3-08  the following was performed... Replaced top pump, lock relay, top relay, voltage reg. water pump plug wires, and more....6-6-07... R/F caliper L/F caliper, R/F brake hose L/F brake hose, rear shocks, R & L wheel clys. grease seals replace and packed, wiper motor, and more 8-18-07... R & L power window motor, window gear asys. and more. There are 9 more pages of items that have been replaced and or repaired, plus general service work performed.    The 9 pages total just over $ 3,000. This car was not just driven and neglected.... it was someone's baby.      Hope the above information helps everyone.
