Vehicle Detail
Rare "survivor" 1973 Dodge Challenger 340 4bbl/747 Torqueflite all original factory Black on Black. This car was stored away, covered in the back of a garage for nearly 25 years, before being uncovered about 3 years ago. Aside from a very nice re-paint somewhere along the line, the car remains in unrestored factory original condition. Very few factory Black Challengers were produced in any year, and this car comes heavilly optioned with a Rallye "Power Buldge" Hood, dual Trumpet exhaust tips, special moulding packages, power front disk brakes and power steering, and more. The body is in excellent shape, never having any rust or restoration. All 1973 metal here. The paint job is very good overall, and looks killer in person. There may be a few tiny marks here and there, but overall for a black car this Challenger looks very impressive. It has an optional red pinstripe down the side, and is void of front and rear spoilers, giving the car a very sleek and classy style. The underneath is more of the same, with original floor pans, body mounts, subframes, and a perfect frame. The trunk is solid with no issues. The interior is all original, and looks amazing. Clean dash, door panels, headliner, and carpet. There are two tears in the rear seat, but aside from that the seats all look like new. It has a vintage Stewart Warner water temp gauge hanging under the dash. The engine is the orginal 340ci 4bbl, backed by the original 727 Torqueflite transmission. The engine was gone through at some point, and utilizes only original or factory replacement parts, right down to the original carburetor, ignition, and alternator. It runs great and sounds strong, and the transmission shifts great. You will not find a more untouched and original Challenger than this. Add the desireable color combo and options, and this is a very special car. Most Challengers we have ever seen have been rusted out, restored, tastelessly modified, or all of the above. This is a rare chance to own a true and honest vintage Dodge Challenger. Feel free to call Greg with any questions at 860-873-1092, or 860-575-8998 (cell). The car will be sold on a bill of sale. Buyer arranges shipping, we will assist in any way we can. International bidders welcome.
