Up for sale is my 1986 Ford Ranger with a factory 2.3 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine with new timing belts and tensioners along with 4 new glow plugs. Very rare truck with smooth running engine, turbo sounds great, great torque, rust free frame, semi straight body, and loads of potential. Truck runs and drives now and could be driven home but I have only driven it a few miles and would recommend trailering it. I bought this in farm Country Indiana from a diesel enthusiast. He had planned on restoring it but was bitten by the Cummins bug and decided to let this one go. This truck will sell regardless of final price as a no reserve auction so bid to win. The truck is for sale locally and I determine whether or not to sell it outside of ebay depending on the current bid so bid early and bid often. Exterior: The body on this truck will need a paint job, rust repair, tail light lenses, etc. As shown in the photos its basically complete but has lived a work truck life. The glass is good. Headlights and taillights work. Tires have half or less thread but should last a year or two. Full size hitch receiver on the back. Tailgate latches do not work and tailgate stays shut. Rust in various areas on body but frame is amazing rust free. Muffler has been removed. Has manual locking hubs for 4x4. Interior: Interior is dirty. The HVAC does work as do the dash gauges. 4 wheel drive shifter works, transmission shifts gears but shifter feels sloppy. Windows go up and down. Drivetrain: Motor runs strong and has no odd noises. Minimal oil leakage. Occasionally the belt squeels. I am surprised how easy it is to drive the truck from a stand still with the torque the motor puts out. 4 new glows plugs I have installed. I also replaced the timing belts and tensioners. Clutch does not slip, brakes stop truck. The rear end gears are a 3.07 and the front are a 3.73 or equivalent. I have a rear end with match gears for the front end that go with the truck. Right now you can use 4x4 but only off road. If you swap the rear axle with the axle I am proving you will be able to operate the truck in 4 wheel drive on pavement. This truck does need work to make it and eye catcher but for someone wanting to get into the diesel game cheaply and have a very reliable truck this one is it. Terms and Conditions – PLEASE READ!!! Collect from the customer the lesser of the two amounts. Sales to residents of any other state not listed in the chart are not subject to Ohio tax, provided the proper affidavit for nonresident sales is completed by the purchases and tendered to the Clerks of Court when application for title is made. If needed, I can provide a temporary tag for a fee of $18.50. Payment A $200.00 deposit is required to be paid via Paypal within 24 hours of the auction closing. Also, I took the truck for a longer drive today. The only issue I would suggest fixing is the brake master cylinder. The brakes work and stop the truck, but it feels weak. It can be used to replace the rear axle currently installed on the truck. Once swapped, your front and rear axle will match ratio wise.
