Vehicle Detail
Offered here for your consideration and bids, is a beautifully restored 1951 Ford F100 Pickup with a rare 5-Star Deluxe Cab. I am advised by the owners, that they purchased the truck at a car show in Scottsdale, Arizona from the gentleman that restored it. Since that time, the truck has had little use. The odometer reads 757 miles. I personally composed the photographs and video of this truck and it is a Jewel. I have been advised by a truck collector in Europe, that this truck has a Five Star Deluxe Cab that is very rare and sought-after. I did a search and it appears that it is by the options in the interior, the Ford lettering molded into the front chrome piece on the hood and the windshield surround plus additional features. Below is some information I located from the howstuffworks web site: "A restyled instrument panel was the highlight of the new Five Star cab interior. It featured a new instrument display and radio grille. In addition, the rear window was substantially enlarged. Standard equipment included three-way ventilation, an adjustable seat, dual windshield wipers, an ashtray, glovebox, and driver's-side sun visor.""A new deluxe Five Star Extra package added foam rubber padding on the bench seat, headlining backed by a 11/2-inch glass wool pad, additional sound deadener on the doors, chrome "wings" added to the hoodside spear, bright metal windshield and vent window trim, argent grille finish (in early models only), two-tone seat upholstery, twin sun visors and armrests, a cigar lighter, locks on each door and the glove box, a dome light, and dual horns. When the Five Star Extra appointments were applied to the F-1 panel truck, Ford sold it as the Deluxe Panel." If you are seeking a vintage truck as an investment, to show, or to use for advertising purposes for your business, you have located your vehicle. This is one to keep. Condition: Excellent. The truck body, bed sides and tailgate appear remarkably straight and unblemished. The vehicle was most likely a light-duty delivery truck or maybe only a grocery-getter. The paint, body, chrome, hardwood bed and attaching hardware are beautiful. The dressed flathead V/8 engine and bay are clean, detailed and dry. The undercarriage is clean with dual exhaust. The interior upholstery, headliner, door panels, gauges, heater, steering wheel and floor rubbers are near perfect. Please notice the door jamb rubber installation and the inside fender attaching hardware in the engine compartment. Upon examination, you can see the vehicle was restored with no expense spared. Minor flaws: A couple of chips in the paint were noticed and a few very small scratches. A slight sag in the paint on the P/S side truck bed body above the back fender can be seen as well. The flaws mentioned are very minor in my opinion. If you are an absolute perfectionist, it would take very little time or money to bring this little truck up near perfect.
