Up for sale is a remarkably clean 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser. Those of you who have browsed our auctions before know that we love Volvos, especially the venerable 240 sedans, wagons and coupes. Part of the reason that we're so fond of these cars is their classic, utilitarian styling. But mainly, it's because of there legendary powertrains: beautifully simple workhorses that take a licking and keep on ticking. This Land Cruiser, although Toyota in origin, is a 240 at heart. This1FZ-FE legendary motor still has a ton of life in it--it's quiet and pulls nicely and has no leaks that we can detect. Those of you who've done the homework on this car know that this inline-6 will go hundreds of thousands of miles if maintained properly. Mileage is a factor in any car purchase, but one of these looked after properly will run well regardless of how much it's got on the clock. Although we didn't go into the motor with a scope, we'd say this one was taken care of pretty well by its previous owners. The interior is nearly spotless: carpets are clean, seats show minimal wear and cargo area is in nice shape. One issue we found: the radio has quit--we don't know if its the head unit or the speakers. The body is in nice shape, with minimal wear on the hood and really no wear on the bumpers and plastic trim. Some chips and imperfections here and there on the body, but in very presentable shape. We've had this car for about 6 months now, running it about when we need to move boxes, people (new) parts. A few things that we addressed: the rear pinion seal, oil and filter and a new windshield. We like driving it around, but it is a gas hog. If you're looking at this auction, I'm sure you've come to terms with that! We're by no means experts on this FJ80s but we will do our best to answer your questions during the auction.
