Up for auction is a rare LOW MILEAGE RUST-FREE 1986 740 GLE Volvo station wagon. I purchased the wagon in September of 2002. Its attraction was the low mileage, 83,353. My intention was to make this a very nice low milage wagon. I had a mechanic go over it top to bottom and we took care of everything that needed attention, see the list below. I had it professionally painted in the Spring of 2003. The interior needed some work, so good quality seat covers were put on the front seats and I purchased a nice late model rear (2nd row) seat. I didn't realize that the mounting brackets were different, so I couldn't install it at that time. It was about this time when I got tied up with my upcoming retirement, selling our home and property, building a new home 350 miles away and then moving in 2004. It's sad, but I never got back on the Volvo. It sat in outside storage until we finally drove it to our new home in central WV. It drove fine on the 350 mile trip through the mountains and hills. Two days later the fuel pump died and the wagon sat for another extended period of time. The pump was finally replaced and now I'm going to sell it because we have no need for it. The sun beating down on the car has faded the paint. I suspect that there wasn't enough clearcoat applied when it was repainted. So, the paint has no gloss, but it is a totally RUST FREE wagon!! The dash is cracked in several locations from the sun. I have a NEW tan moulded dashcap that is available fo purchase. The sun or a stray stone caused the windshield to crack, so a good replacement windshield will be also supplied with the car. The rear muffler is leaking, so a NEW muffler and tailpipe will also be supplied with the wagon. The tires are not in good condition and will need to be replaced soon. It has a manual (working) sunroof and door mirrors. The power windows are all in working condition. The heater works as it should. The ac was in good working condition when I purchase the car, but it will probably need to be gone over. It has a Jensen pull-out radio. This wagon is just waiting for a new owner to pull it together and get it back on the road. The car needs to be driven. It has been just sitting way too long. In this colder weather the car doesn't want to idle until it starts to warm up. Seems like the cold start / constant idle motor, so I'll be including one with the car.
