My brother-in-law purchased this beautiful '84 500SEL with plans to rebuild the engine and keep it forever. Unfortunately he past away very unexpectedly and his wife must sell it. Except for one dent on the driver's door (pictured) this California car has never been in an accident, has no rust, great paint, shiny chrome, and the black leather seats are still soft and crack-free!  He found a bad camshaft was the cause of the rough engine during dis-assembly just before he past and this is the current condition. All else was reportedly working properly. Car has 225K miles and was obviously well maintained and garaged. Tires have 50-60% tread and show very even wear. Recent repairs include rotors, calipers and pads all around at a cost of nearly $1300 and the transmission was rebuilt about 20k miles ago.  Since it is not running buyer would need to tow it.  It is a non-operational vehicle being sold "as-is", "where it is". If you or someone you know is mechanically inclined this could get you into a true luxury car with a great reputation for pennies on the dollar.
