Vehicle Detail
Hello loyal followers, up for sale is a surprisingly clean 1992 Volvo 245. We saw this particular car at auction and picked it up because of its generally clean condition, manual transmission and IPD sway bars, front and rear! We were confident that despite its miles, it would be both structurally and mechanically sound. When we got it back to the shop, boy were we happy! The motor sounds as healthy as most B230F with half the miles, the transmission shifts with no muss or fuss and clutch still grabs with some life in it. The body shined up nicely after P.J., our ever faithful detailer, got his wheel on it. Sure, it's got some dings and some of the seat seams have come loose, but the overall condition of the car indicates that someone was taking care of it, and that's paramount on these 240s. These cars are quite inexpensive to maintain, but you'd be surprised how may people neglect to do even basic maintenance on their 240, especially as the years tick by. We're pretty sure this 245's previous owner kept up with it. Gerard, our proprietor and chief mechanic, gave it an oil and filter change, then promptly drove it home to Long Island, getting it up to 80 miles an hour along the way. "Rock solid" was the verdict when he parked it at the shop the next morning. If you know the drivetrain on these cars, you understand that they are quite durable. If you take care of them, they will reward you with hundreds of thousands of miles of reliable transportation. This 245 is no exception; with some minimal TLC, it will be a keeper! About Subvol, contact information, disclaimers, warranties and fees: ABOUT SUBVOL: We sell and service all models of Subaru and Volvo automobiles, especially wagons and all-wheel drive variants of the these cars. If you have a Subaru or Volvo that needs repair, don't throw it away, bring it to us! For more information, or to setup a viewing and test drive, please call Gerard at 917-662-7639. WE SELL RECONDITIONED USED CARS, NOT RESTORED CARS: Please understand that most of the cars we sell are approaching twenty years old. As such, they may need additional maintenance/repair/reconditioning soon after delivery. Please understand that we do inspect each car and replace non-serviceable parts, but we simply cannot find and repair or replace every non-functioning or non-serviceable part on each of our cars. We also cannot predict when a part will fail. Please factor this in to your purchase decision. Furthermore, as older used cars, our cars may have had body repairs or have been repainted in the past. If we believe these repairs were done poorly or below acceptable specification, we will note this in the auction. Finally, a word on rust: we visually inspect each car for rust holes in the body and undercarriage. However, we do not remove seats, carpets, axles, etc. during this inspection. "Visual" means just that: we look but don't poke. NO WARRANTY: Due to the age of most of our stock, we unfortunately cannot provide warranties for our cars without significantly raising our prices. We hope you understand. FEES: If you live in New Jersey, we are obligated to collect a 7% sales tax at delivery. Regardless of where you live, we charge a $149 processing fee, which is in addition to the final negotiated price or bid value on each of our cars.
