***ATTENTION**--MY RESERVE PRICE HAS BEEN LOWERED FOR THE SECOND TIME--11/01/11. If the car doesn't sell this time, it'll be going to the local auction---don't miss out!! Please Note--my Reserve Price is well below what NADA says this car is worth(see below). I've relisted this car with a lower reserve and different pictures. If you'd like to inspect the car before bidding, please contact me to set up an appoingment. The car is located near Panama City Beach, Florida. Thanks for looking. This 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V Cartier Edition is in very nice original condition with only 47,692 actual miles. The engine is mechanically sound and the body is in very good physical condition. The transmission, drive train, and brakes all operate properly and without problems. This car drives so smooth, it's like driving a recliner. The entire car is all original--never been repainted and the interior has never been re-upholstered or altered. I even have the original "Mark V" keychain that came with the car. This car has a 460 / V8 engine that is in excellent condition. Pump the gas pedal twice and turn the key, and it fires up immediately. All four tires were just replaced--they have less than 300 miles on them. In addition, the muffler on the passenger side was just replaced in August 2011. I have the receipts to show these items were done. I have included this link to verify that this is an actual "Cartier Edition"-- http://automotivemileposts.com/cartiermyth.html Use the links that website provides for the 1978 models and you'll see that this car has the Champagne color scheme. The exterior color is Champagne, and the interior is the Champagne leather with red trim--see the pics that website shows and you will see that this car I'm selling is an actual Cartier Edition. The 22 karat gold plaque mentioned on that website is not included with this car. I guess the previous owner kept it. I have a low Reserve set for this car--well below NADA value. NADA values this vehicle between $5000 and $22,000, depending on the condition of the car--my Reserve is well below either of those. I'd have to say this car is about the middle of the road---it's not in showroom condition, but at the same time, it's not trashed either. I value it myself somewhere between $7,000 to $8,000, although I realize that is only my appraisal. Either way, it's in very nice condition for a car this old. It's eye-catching and is a beautiful piece of American Craftsmanship. Features and Options and the condition thereof: Automatic Transmission / Power Steering / Power Brakes -- all in good condition and working order The Climate Control A/C and heat both work well. All knobs, lever handles, and vent covers are intact. The cruise control works. The buttons on the steering wheel are in good condition. The steering wheel is adjustable and works is in good condition. The electric windows and door locks all work--the window on the passenger side cannot be raised with the switch on the driver's door--it will only raise using the switch on the passenger door. If I let down the passenger window while I'm driving, I lean over and use the passenger side switch to raise the window back up. Both sides have the small cigarette style window that lowers first, and then the remaining part of the window will lower--just in case you wanted to smoke, you can lower just the small cigarette window without having to lower the whole window. The headlight covers work perfectly. They lower when the headlights are turned off, and raise when the headlights are turned on. The headlight dimmer switch works perfectly. Two of the headlight bulbs are out...there are 4 total, with only 2 of them currently working. All of the interior lights work with the exception of the door light on the driver's side--I believe the bulb is out. When it's dark, the insideof the car lights up like a ballroom and looks immaculate. Both of the exterior key slots to unlock the doors have lights built into them. When you walk up to the car at night, you just lift the door handle and the light around the door lock will light up so you can see where to insert the key....keeps from scratching the door up in the dark whille trying to insert the key. The cigarette lighter and ashtrays work and are in good usable condition. Both of the doors have ashtrays built into them. The lids on those have a flip switch that opens the lid--they both work fine. The side mirrors are adjustable from inside the car and both levers work the associated mirror. Both front seats are power seats and work properly. They both let up and lean back properly. The driver's side seat has a couple of flaws--see pics. The rear seats are in immaculate condition. All of the seats are leather--white with burgundy trim. Both front seats have a center arm rest. The make-up mirrors on the sunvisors are in good condition. The lights on them light up with the exception of one on the passenger's side--bad bulb. The lids flip open and close as they should. The carpet and upholstery are in good condition. There are no tears or ugly stains on the carpeting. The dashboard is in good condition--no cracking or splitting. The chrome bumpers and grill sparkle and are rust free. As you can see from the pics, they really shine. The original hood ornament is intact. The hubcaps are all original and in excellent condition--they really shine. Blinkers and brake lights work properly. The windshield wipers are interval wipers and are in proper working condition. The gas gauge works properly. Interior hood release and trunk release. Both work properly. The spare tire is the original spare tire and as far as I know, has never been used. It still has the original container of material used to inflate the tire had it ever been needed. The trunk area is extremely clean and in good condition. The Landau Top is in pretty good condition, although it does have a few cracks in it. There are no big rips or tears in it as you can see. The interior head-liner is in great condition and doesn't sag or droop. The AM / FM / 8-track player combination is the original one that came in the car. I have tested it and it's getting power, but will not play. The clock on the instrument panel is getting power, but does not work. The wood panel on the passenger side of the dashboard shows signs of flaking--see pics. I've found one of these in great condition on ebay for around $20. The exterior paint and body of the car are in very good condition. There are a couple of areas where rust/bubbles in the paint are beginning to form. However, all of these areas are still firm to the touch and not spongy or soft feeling. I took pics of these areas and have included them. Clear Title in hand. Please contact me if you'd like to see more pictures of the car--especially if there is any certain area or detail you'd like to see. I've taken over 125 pictures of this car but ebay will only let me load 24 pictures on my listing. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. If you read my feedback, you'll see I'm a reputable seller. I bought this car from a guy that needed fast money and have driven it around for several months. I'm not really a Classic Car Enthusiast so I'm selling it in order to recoup my money if possible. The person I bought it from was the second owner according to the information on the title. He had owned it since 1979. AS IS - NO WARRANTY This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied.
