This is a rare opportunity to own one of the nicest Thunderbirds!DATA PLATE CODES: BODY: 63B COLOR: E TRIM: 55 DATE: 23C DSO: 23 AXLE: 1 TRANS: 4 One more attempt to sell before buttoning it up for winter. Those of you have been watching this auction will notice that I've really lowered the price, selling it for much less than I want and certainly much less than I thought it would bring. This is one sweet Thunderbird that will pass muster with the most discriminating collectors and buyers. If you have questions, please ask via email or call/text me at 847-707-3009. I will answer promptly and honestly. I've also include a link to 49 pictures of the car: http://s1137.photobucket.com/albums/n513/PTragos/I am the fourth owner of this car. The original owner took delivery of it April 17, 1964 from E.T. Line Ford in Denver, Pennsylvania. The second owner purchased it in 1970, brought it to northwestern Ohio and did a complete restoration on it in the mid-1990s. I have an extensive, detailed narrative report documenting the restoration, unfortunately the stack of receipts did not survive the next owner, and I don’t have them. The third owner purchased it in 2007 and brought it to West Virginia. I bought it in June, 2010 and brought it home to the Chicago suburbs where it’s spent most of its time in my garage, except for a few shows and cruise nights. This spectacular, super-clean Thunderbird draws a crowd everywhere I take it. Those who know cars and Thunderbirds see beyond its surface beauty to recognize that this one special, unique car. As you can see, it is a Landau with very rare color combination – Silver Mink with red interior. It has a 390-4barrel, 300hp, with a 3 speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission. It is loaded with nearly every option available in 1964: power windows, 4-way power driver’s seat, air condition, AM-FM radio, Speed Control System (cruise control). The body is very straight, clean, and solid. It will strongly hold a magnet all the way around the body. I think the most spectacular feature of this car is not only its striking color combo, but the red interior itself. It is in excellent condition! I think the interior pictures speak for themselves. The paint is very nice, clean, and deep. You will see in the pictures that I’ve pointed to it two minor flaws. It has one other tiny touch up on the driver’s rear quarter panel. The Landau top is simply excellent – dare I say perfect? The chrome is clean and brilliant. All the glass is good, all lights and turn signals work, locks and windows work. The engine bay is spotless and striking, but beneath that is an excellent running engine and transmission. The car starts easily and quickly, stops true and drives straight. It is truly a show and drive car. Of course, it always garage kept in a climate controlled garage. The restoration report written by the second owner lists 2 ½ pages of all the things that were replaced, rebuilt or restored from the engine & powertrain to suspension, body, and interior. He notes that car was very solid before the restoration began. He then reports that “the fenders, hood, trunk lid, grille, bumpers and chrome trim/chrome components were removed. The engine bay was stripped, suspension, powertrain, ands steering components were removed and disassembled then sandblasted and painted.” It is as close to a “frame off” restoration as you can get for a unibody car. I know I’ve heaped superlatives on this car, but it is that nice! To be clear, it has a few minor flaws I noted in the pictures. I will also tell you that the power steering pump just starting acting up (a leak and squeak). I will have it repaired because I will not sell a car of this caliber without all the systems in working order or I could take it off the final price if the buyer wants to do it that way. So why sell such a sweet, rare car, right? Unfortunately, since I got the car 17 months ago I purchased a new home and did a major renovation that was way over budget and I'm also in the middle of a restoring a 1966 F100 pickup truck. The car just doesn't get the attention it deserves. Payment is expected in cash or cashiers check. $1000 deposit within 3 days of the end of the auction. I will not ship overseas. I will work with your car carrier. Car and title will not be released until cashiers check has cleared.
