Vehicle Detail
Awesome 1967 Firebird ZERO rust, I mean NONE! No filler either, bring your magnet Still has original Floor Pans and Trunk, no rot whatsoever I DROVE this baby here to Detroit from Nevada last spring. Yes you read that right, drove Route 66 across the country in her 6 months ago. Not a numbers matching car, she is built to drive. Milage reads 42k, I'm sure it's only rolled over once, putting it at 142k Motor is a 1971 400 bored .30 over, 10:1 compression TH 400 Trans, 2500 stall converter, Hurst Slap shifter New top end rebuild just finished 1500 mile break in (I wanted a more mild cam) Comp Cam, Lifters, Rollor Rockers, Full Headers to Dual Exhaust behind the axel Disk Brake conversion and all New Suspension up front (tubular A-arms, shocks and springs) drums in the rear Summit Racing electric Fuel Pump Fresh Paint, 2 coats primer, 2 coats color, 2 coats clear. Still needs a wet sanding, which is scheduled for next week. It's a Dark Blue Metalic. Just a hint of purple in the sun, Midnight Blue in most Lighting, Looks Black at Night. Stripped to bare metal and painted in Phoenix before the drive here (including door jams and under hood and trunk) Newer Interior, including insulation above the headliner and below the carpet Cooling system built to run in the desert, runs 160 degrees in normal conditions, Highest I've seen was 215 in Detroit Dream Cruise Traffic on a 97 degree day. Everything I've done to this car was done with the intention of keeping it for the rest of my life. I spent a year searching for the perfect one. Unfortunately, something has come up and I have to let her go. (going back to school at age 35) I'm loosing money at this price, without even considering the hours of loving care I've put into it. Still some minor things to be done to make her perfect, but nothing your average guy can't do in his garage. Stacks of reciepts from myself and the previous owner. I got alot of questions about the bumpers. They're straight and in good shape. Were nice original chrome when I got the car, but to get the mean look I wanted I sandblasted them to a dull finish and the covered them in a Semi-gloss clear. The finish is similar to a road side guard rail. I love it, but that's just me. Also the emblems were removed and the holes for them filled before paint. Again, I just like the mean, stealthy look... Contact me with any questions. Shipping is on the buyer, but I can help with arrangements. I'd also consider driving it to you for the cost of gas and a plane ticket home. I've listed this car on here before, and had some decent offers of cash and trades. Letting you know upfront that this is the rock bottom price, and it's a steal at 12,000. I have over 16k into it not including labor. Recieved a few questions about the rear end. It's currently running a 256 limited slip rear in a BOP housing. The housing will accept up to a 355 Posi. With the 256, however, it runs at around 2500 rpm at 70 mph on the freeway, saving some gas and keeping the ride a little quieter and more comfortable.
