This is probably one of the cleanest and most well-sorted 6.0L Ford diesels on the market in the entire country. This is my own personal truck and the only reason Im considering selling it is because I only end up driving it a couple of times per week or when we go on a road trip. I looked for about 6 months to find this exact truck because I am extremely particular about my personal vehicles and I wanted the cleanest one I could possibly find. When I bought this truck, it was absolutely bone stock and in exactly the condition you see now (minus all the aftermarket goodies). It had been so well maintained that it still had its original oil cooler at 194k miles - and it still didnt need replacing even at that point! I look at Ford diesels every day, and I hadnt ever seen anyone acheive this feat (and havent seen it again since). The only way this was possible was by oil changes every 3,000 miles and to drive like a grandpa. Anyone who knows 6.0L Power Strokes knows what Im talking about. It seems ridiculous to be so impressed by a truck having its factory oil cooler, but this was just one way I knew that this truck had been incredibly well taken care of - both mechanically and cosmetically. The truck still has its original paint on every panel. It hasnt ever been in a single accident or fender bender. The previous owner kept it in their garage, and although my garage isnt big enough to fit this truck, Ive had it buffed and hand waxed every other month since Ive owned it and have kept it inside my warehouse about half of the time Ive had it. This truck has been in Texas since new, so it hasnt ever been exposed to any salt at all. Therefore, there is absolutely no rust or corrosion on this truck anywhere - even on the undercarriage. You may find a couple very tiny door dings, and there are a couple scratches on the top part of the front bumper, but other than that the exterior is in mint condition. There arent any of the typical dings or scratches on the bed or tailgate. This truck has only had 1 owner before me, but Carfax shows 2 previous owners because I bought it from a wholesaler who liquidates all the new car trade-ins from a local Ford dealership. I have all the original books and manuals, and even the original window sticker. As far as I can tell, the original owner bought every option available except a sunroof and navigation. The original spare, jack, and tool kit are all present. Ive owned this truck since last April and have put just a little over 10,000 miles on it. We took the truck on a 2,500 mile road trip to Colorado in August and it performed flawlessly (other than the alternator deciding to go out in Pueblo, CO). Just before the trip, I had the diesel shop I use (the best in at least 500 miles of here, and they specialize in Ford Power Stroke Diesels) go over the truck with a fine-toothed comb to see what he could find that might possibly cause any trouble. The engine shows no signs of wear whatsoever. It does not have any blow-by at all and it doesnt leak a drop of anything or burn any oil. It doesnt ever smoke under any circumstances unless you really put your foot in it, and even then it smokes very little which is exactly what its supposed to do. This truck is my first 6.0 diesel to have owned as a personal driver, and Im even more impressed with it than I was with my 7.3 Power Stroke that I sold to buy this truck - and I loved my 7.3. Once the EGR system is deleted or bypassed on the 6.0 you end up with a bulletproof engine thats backed by probably the best automatic transmission that Ford has ever put in a diesel truck - the Torq-Shift 5-Speed. With the modifications this truck has, it far exceeds the old 7.3 in efficiency, durability, and dependable smooth power. Ill now list everything Ive done related to maintenance and service since Ive owned the truck: - Completely New A/C system (compressor, dryer, condenser, etc.)- New Steering Box- New Front Brake Pads (machined rotors)- Oil Changes every 3k miles (Shell Rotella 15w40 since new)- New Fuel Filters every 3k miles- New Front Sway Bar Bushings- New Driveshaft Carrier Bearing- Turbocharger and Intake Manifold Removed and Cleaned- New Oil Cooler- Flushed Cooling System (filled with the correct gold colored Ford coolant)- New Thermostat- New Serpentine Belt- Transmission Flushed and Filter Replaced- New Inner Hub Seals on Rear Axle- New FICM/IDM (Fuel Injector Control Module)- New Batteries (Continental Heavy-Duty)- New Alternator- Alignment The truck shop where I have had the suspension work done recommends that the lower ball joints be replaced in about 10k miles (costs about $350 total) because theyre just starting to barely show a little play, and the little plastic dust shields at each end of the front axle should be replaced at that point also. As if all that recent maintenance Ive had done werent enough, youre about to find out I have a hard time "leaving well enough alone". The following custom and performance parts were installed to make this truck more functional, more dependable, and look great (absolutely no corners were cut here and only the absolute best parts were used): - 2008 Super Duty Tail Lights (wired in with OEM 2008 pigtails so everything works like factory)- Custom Light Bar with 4 IPF Off-Road Lights wired to the factory upfitter toggle switches in the cab (2 have 55w bulbs and 2 have 100w bulbs)- RCD 2.5" Lift Front Springs- ReadyLift 1.5" Billet Aluminum Front Spring Spacers- Bilstein 5100 Series Shocks and Dual Steering Stabilizers- BDS Suspension Steering Stabilizer Brackets- Icon Vehicle Dynamics Adjustable Track Bar- Muffler and Catalytic Converter Deleted- Blocked Off EGR Cooler and EGR Valve (if you have diesel emissions inspections where youre from, they wont be able to tell its not functioning)- SCT Performance SF3 Power Flash Tuner- Centramatic Dynamic Wheel Balancers- Toyo Open Country M/T Tires (35 x 12.50 x 18; Load Range E) If youre interested in a truck that has no excuses, has been incredibly well maintained, has all the right modifications, is in near impeccable cosmetic condition, and doesnt have any little gremlins to chase, then this one is for you. If you want the cheapest one on the market you need to look elsewhere. Very few trucks have been taken care of as well as this one has since new, and it has all the right custom accessories to boot. I just got the truck back from the diesel shop because he changed the oil and fuel filters, and while it was there I had him inspect the entire truck very thoroughly again and he could only find two small issues to fix. First was that one of the o-rings at the fuel pressure regulator was just starting to show signs of drying out because there was some moisture around it, so he removed the FPR and replaced all the o-rings in it. The other thing he found was that the drivers side locking hub was binding because of a tiny part inside the hub itself that had gone bad, which was making the front driveshaft spin all the time. He disassembled the hub and replaced the tiny broken piece and told me to watch my fuel mileage because it would probably go up noticeably from fixing this issue. This truck has always gotten an honest 18 MPG or a little better on the highway, but on the way back from his shop I set the cruise on 65 MPH and got over 22 MPG on a ten mile stretch of I-35! I am absolutely amazed at this and I wish he would have fixed it sooner, but Im sure the buyer will be pleased with the fuel economy. Ill also have a full tank of fuel in the truck for the buyer. Ive set the Buy It Now price several thousand below the Kelley Blue Book "Private Party Value", and the Reserve is even slightly under the KBB "Trade-In Value" (without taking into account any of the modifications), so this truck is going to be a really great deal for someone. Fly in and drive it home if you like - Ill meet you at the airport! PLEASE NOTE: (#1) In the undercarriage pictures, you may notice a small area of wet residue on the engine crossmember and front axle. This was from me overfilling the brake fluid like a dummy when topping it off just a few hours before taking the pictures. The truck has absolutely no leaks. (#2) I also realized when taking the pictures that 3 of the little red plastic door reflectors that go on the inside door panels are missing, so Ive already replaced those. (#3) The toolbox does not come with the truck, unless the buyer wants it for $200. (#4) If the buyer does not want the IPF lights on the front bumper, Ill deduct $300 from the price (Ill leave the light bar installed). If the buyer does not want the Centramatic wheel balancers, Ill deduct $200 from the price.
