Up for sale is my 1940 Dodge VF truck with a straight six that is not frozen, hydraulic dump bed, and historic body. I bought this truck in Brookville Ohio. The owner gave me several documents for the truck and informed me he was the third owner. The owner prior to him had used the truck on his farm for several years and apparently put a 12vdc battery in the truck rather than a 6vdc battery. He killed the starter and never used the truck again. The man I bought it from planned to restore it but did not. The motor spins freely with compression, the transmission shifts fine, and the over all body and frame are in useable condition. I used a tow bar to pull this truck home, tires all held air for the 2 hour drive and the wheel bearing did not heat up. I feel this is a very restorable project and it has a clear Ohio title in my name. I am able to assist with a fork lift to load this truck on your trailer as it currently is not running. Truck is same size as a current F150. Exterior: The body on this old truck could be used as it is. Bed would work for advertising but wood is old and probably needs replaced if you plan to load it down with materials. Where as the tires do hold air they have dry rot and should be replaced. Glass in drivers side door is missing and there is rust with holes around the front window. Both hood doors open and there is a "custom" tool box behind the drivers door made out of an old barrel. Interior: Interior is basically all there. The original seats are in the bed, I put that truck seat in the truck. The instrument cluster needs the speedometer fixed and probably tinkered with electronically. The pictures should speak for themselves on the interior. Rust hole in the center of the headliner between the wiper motors. Drivetrain: Motor does turn over by hand, starter needs rebuilt or replaced. Transmission shifts fine and clutch does hold, uncertain what it will take to get the truck running but I believe it only needs ignition parts, a starter, battery, and fuel. Title will be mailed after it is put in winning buyers name at Ohio DMV. I am a licensed dealer in Ohio and am required to collect sales tax for the states listed below, not any others. Buyer must show proof of state of residence. The rate of tax to apply is 6 percent. Calculate the other state price (taking into account the above adjustments, such as a trade-in allowance for the purchase of a used car) and apply the rate of tax as listed in the chart above. Collect from the customer the lesser of the two amounts. Sales to residents of any other state not listed in the chart are not subject to Ohio tax, provided the proper affidavit for nonresident sales is completed by the purchases and tendered to the Clerks of Court when application for title is made. If needed, I can provide a temporary tag for a fee of $18.50. Payment A $200.00 deposit is required to be paid via Paypal within 24 hours of the auction closing. If winning bidder would like to pick up the item within 24 hours, please contact the seller immediately and a Paypal deposit will not be required. The deposit is refundable unless: 1) the winning bidder fails to pay for the item in full by the required time set on this auction, which is ten calendar days after auction ends, or 2) see below.
