Vehicle Detail
Hello, this auction is for a 1975 Corvette Stingray coupe. I really do not want to sell this car but I received a call today from a guy whom I have been trying to buy a car from for 10 years, he decided to sell it to me so something has to go. This car is a very nice restoration project and while it does have some issues there is no rust anywhere on the frame or birdcage. It has been a California car all of its life and it retains nearly all of its original parts including motor and transmission. It was also a very nicely optioned car with the following: 1. Classic White 2. Tan Leather Upholstery 3. 4 speed manual transmission 4. Power Steering 5. Power Brakes 6. Power Windows 7. Air Conditioning 8. 3.36:1 Positraction Body: This is an early 1975 production car. According to the door jamb sticker it was built 11-74. Like earlier Corvettes this body still as a fiberglass floors so there are no rust issues in the floor. On the body there are 2 spots of damage. The first is the driver front fender, a lower ball joint broke and the tire got into the fender well and broke the lip of the fender. Personally I do not think that the fender needs replacement just the lip is bad and it could be re-fiberglassed and undercoated. The second issue is that the right rear tire had a blowout at one time and broke the quarter panel. I had an NOS Chevrolet quarter panel installed on the car. Both the front and rear bumpers are in good condition they are not cracking or falling apart like most of the rubber bumpers of this vintage. I am guessing that they have been changed at one time. Both doors open and close nicely and seem to fit OK as does the hood. The hood still has the solenoid and door for the functional cold air induction. The car looks to have been painted at least once so there could be some hidden damage but there is nothing else that I see at this time. Chassis: The frame on this car looks to be in very good condition. There is no visible rust or damage. Looking at the front and the back it appears that it has never been in collision. The body seems to back this up as the fiberglass has never been repaired. On the driver side front the lower ball joint broke. I replaced the lower control arm. I was going to rebuild the suspension; overall the chassis is complete and rebuildable with no major damage. I have all 4 1976-1982 cast aluminum wheels. Three are on the car and I bought a replacement for the missing 4th. Also included is the spare tire carrier, AZ code rally wheel with its original G70-15 Goodyear white letter tire. Engine & Transmission: This car has its original base L48 350 and super T10 4 speed transmission. Currently they are removed but I will reinstall them for shipping. Both have the cars VIN number stamped on them. The engine is complete with its original air cleaner, distributor, ignition shielding, brackets and pulleys. All of the little nit picking brackets are still intact. I do not believe that it has ever been rebuilt. It does have a pair of L82 finned aluminum valve covers installed. I have a machine shop and it was my intention to build a “STOCK” appearing 383 for the car. I still have the rotating assembly and several other parts to do this. I have done several motors like this for customers and with ported heads and ported stock intake. With early 2 ½ Ram horn manifolds you can have a completely stock appearing 425hp small block. If you are interested in the car with a rebuilt engine please e-mail and I will be happy to work something out with you. What the car is missing: When I got the car it was in the process of being parted out. The steering column, door panels and brake booster are gone. All of these are available. The interior is kinda rough as well. The driver seat back and the console top plate are gone. I do however have the pedal assembly, stock shifter and all of the clutch linkage. Paperwork: When I got this car it was a lien sale that came on a police tow for DUI. I submitted all of the paperwork and I will receive a clear California title for the car. There are no back fees or fines on the car. At one time this was a nicely restored car. The guy who owned it had a drug/alcohol problem. He drove it up here from southern California and was living inside it. Shipping and Payment: I would like to sell this car and receive payment ASAP. While I do like the car I have found something else I want more. I will not take PayPal on the car. Money Order Cashier’s check or Cash in person works great. I would entertain a trade on the car for something else 1970’s or older feel free to shoot me an e-mail with what you might have. I will be adding more pictures of the car and the engine and trans. Thanks for looking and happy bidding.
