Have to sell my Z3. Don't want to. Just got started with the restoration. Cruises effortly and quietly at highway speeds with plenty of guts left to pass when you need to. A really great ride. This car has a rebuilt title from a front end collission in 2004. According to Carfax the vehicle had 51,000 miles on it when it crashed and after the accident, a new engine was installed - although I cannot guaranty that it was new - maybe it was a rebuilt one. Mileage now is 94,650 so approximately 43K on the replacement engine. I do not know cars, but it tracks well, doesn't leak fluids, and has only one minor rattle that I can occasionally hear when I stop at a light. Sounds like an exhaust bracket that needs tightening. Other issues - the plastic dash has cracks near the windshield, the drivers seat bottom is torn but you the car you get two leather seat covers just purchased on ebay. I installed the backs but the bottoms still have to be installed - which I was going to have done when I painted the hood. The front bumper has paint peeling from a bad paint job. The hood has sun damage to the paint. A little fading on the back deck also. The power top is intact and works well. The top has a loose drivers side seal that occasionaly has to be put back in place. Takes 2 seconds. Water pump has a loose fan bearing - doesn't leak. Tires are newish looking - have plenty of tread. No drivers air bag. Space for it but after it went off - it wasn't replaced. Some interior plastic trimwork plugs missing. Glove box lock latch missing. Glove box stays closed and is easily opened - just can't be locked. Windshield and side windows and rear windows are uncracked and unblemished. Only one key. Doors lock and unlock by locking the trunk - I don't know if this is normal, but... I bought this car as a "project" car. It runs fine, it looks okay - it mostly needs cosmetic work...a paint job and some interior repairs! I was about to get the hood painted, but my wife wants me to stop spending money on the car - already bought leather car seat covers, protective car cover and a new Storm Sound SD325 stereo (all of this is included in the sale) The problem that we have is that there are no BMW mechanics or inexpensive body and paint shops in Key West - everything requires a 150 mile drive to Miami, hotels, dinners, drink, gambling. Very expensive trips. So we/ she made the decision that we should sell the car "as is". We just don't drive it that much in Key West - we have put on a little more than 200 miles on her in three months. If you have any specific questions, please email me. It is what it is. This is a good deal, but you may have to spend a few dollars to make it a great car. There is no reserve. When we decide to sell, we decide to sell. You could get a real good deal! On Oct-24-11 at 11:54:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Clarification: Third paragraph "it doesn't leak fluids"...I actually can't tell if it doesn't leak fluids - it doesn't appear to leak fluids, oil and water levels are maintained, but I don't want to mislead anyone because I can't guaranty that there isn't a small fluid leak anywhere - I don't think there is.
