CZ 250 CC Type 980 Motocross Motorcycle. It is time for me to start scaling back my collection. I have numerous motorcycles, some are needing restoring, some are very nice originals; I am running out of room. I am relisting this CZ 250 CC since the last time it go so close to the reserve - will not relist again. I have owned this motorcycle for well over 10 years, I had always intended to restore it, but have yet to get to it. This is a perfect candidate for AHRMA motocross racing. This appears to be a red frame type 980, there is a lot of red showing through the yellow frame, so I am assuming it was originally red and someone painted it along the way. The VIN is listed above and the number on the engine matches (980 4000613). On the badge on the frame neck this is listed as a Type "980 808". The year on this same badge is listed as 197 with the 4th digit blank. I am pretty certain that this is a 1974. The Engine output is listed as 32/6800. The bike appears to be pretty original, except the Preston Petty front fender and possibly the rear fender. The exhaust is still attached with the springs as it was from the factory. The tank is in super shape. I have never tried to start this bike, it does kick over and appears to have good compression. It has been stored in a garage since I have owned it, I got it out of a storage shed when I bought it years ago. I know that this is not a perfect motorcycle, but I also know that there are not that many of these around. The reserve on this bike will be realistic.
