1970 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK PROJECT from MustangBeginnings VIN# 0R02H159xxx 1970 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK PROJECT from MustangBeginnings Up for auction is a 1970 Mustang Fastback. This car is very complete, but it will help if you are a welder! Even though this car has upper body rust, the frame rails appear strong and straight! This is a good opportunity to make some money on a side project. With a little time invested in this car and some sheet metal parts, this car will be worth a lot more. Almost everything is there to take on this project. BODY: The frame of this fastback is in good condition and straight which makes it a good candidate to restore. As you can see in the pictures below the original floor pans are just about ready to go. The rear quarters will need to be replaced, as well as some patching on the roof. The driver's side pillar will need to be changed, as it is missing. Also, a new trunk lid will be needed. If you are not up for doing the auto bodywork yourself, we have the experience and the knowledge at MustangBeginnings.com to get you started off in the right direction. Overall this Mustang is a great candidate for restoration because it is so complete. INTERIOR: The interior will need work but the good news is that you can see what is needed. You aren’t accepting someone else’s mistakes or bad repairs. All the wiring is in the car and seems to be in good condition. Dash is in good shape but the dash pad will need replacing or recovering. The seats will, of course, need to be reupholstered, and new carpet is needed as well. The door panels are missing, but you probably want new ones anyway. ENGINE BAY: Engine bay is in good condition, and ready for cleaning and paint. The original 351 2V Cleveland engine and FMX transmssion are present. As are most of its parts. While sitting in storage, somebody helped themselves to the radiator, so that is not included. Although you would probably install a new one anyways. BRAKE SYSTEM: The fastback has its drum brakes front and rear. Somebody helped themselves to the master cylinder, although the brake system will need to be completely restored anyways. STEERING: All steering pieces are parts are intact and included. GLASS: The driver's side door glass is missing, but the rest of the glass is in useable condition. The windows roll up and down. The car has no cracks in the windshield or real window, but there are a couple of scratches that can be buffed out. MISC. This Mustang was built on June 30, 1970, fourteen days behind schedule.
