Vehicle Detail
This is the model people bought when they wanted lower insurance than the GTO. It came stock with a 400 CI engine with 2 barrel carb as well as a factory Hurst 4 speed. Many of these cars have been rebuilt to look like the GTO. When it's running it is a lot of fun to drive, but a proper restoration should include converting the front brakes from drum to disk and some suspension work. The only thing aftermarket on this are air shocks in the back and the stereo. This car has been sitting for over 10 years. It was a gift from my departed mother and has sentimental value. I have been offered as much as $5K for it in the past, though I doubt it will come near that today. Last I drove it the car was mechanically sound except the water pump needs replaced. I could not get a frozen bolt out. My mechanic said he could but I never did it. After it sat for a year or two I put WD-40 in the cylinders and turned the motor once. It was running strong. I make no guarantee that it will work without overhaul after sitting this long. There was also a new clutch put in shortly before it was parked. Again, no guarantees on the mechanical condition. The car needs a full restoration. There is minor rust on the quarter panels and under the roof in back. This car could be fixed and driven, but really is a being sold as a restoration project or parts car. There are minor cosmetic dings from parking in the corners. The car has never been wrecked and the body is straight. I am the third owner. My mother got the car from her boyfriend when they were together and he was the original owner. I have a clear title. As I don't expect this to go for a huge sum I would like the full amount via Paypal at close of auction. If it is more I would be willing to discuss a deposit and payment on the balance. The buyer will assume all responsibility to transport the car. I will be here to and make sure there are no problems loading up. I have let this sit long enough and have better uses for the driveway and the money so I hope it finds a good home. On Oct-18-11 at 14:04:50 PDT, seller added the following information: I have added the additional photos many have requested, except the floorboards. I am getting ready to leave town and don't have time to do this much. I know they are good. This car has no substantial rust issues, just minor surface rust as can be seen in the photos. It's a great car that just needs some love. In the trunk, after cleaning everything out the only rest there is from the jack and other things that fell apart in there. The liner is intact and I used it to get everything out. The hood is very stiff and the liner has water damage but is original. They don't get any more bone stock.
