Vehicle Detail
12.00 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for auction is a rare 1981 2 Door Chevrolet Caprice Classic. This vehicle would make a perfect project car as it contains no rust at all on the body. Please read every bit of my ad’s description as I will try to provide as many details as possible so that I can answer whatever questions you may have. Engine/Drivetrain: · Vehicle has a rebuilt 350 sbc that was taken out of a 1982 Corvette. The engine has around 9,000 miles on it since the rebuild. · Vehicle has a rebuilt 350 turbo tranny that was also taken out of the 1982 Corvette and has around 9,000 miles on it since the rebuild. · Just had a tune up, oil change, transmission fluid change, and changed out all of the filters. · Has 2.5 inch dual exhaust Flow Masters that run all the way from the headers to the rear of the vehicle. · Brakes and rotors are in good condition. Car will stop on a dime. Exterior: · Paint on the vehicle is metallic black with flakes in it. I believe that the vehicle was repainted. · The body has some minor scratches on the left rear by the wheel well and a few dings on the passenger side door. Other than that, the body is rust free and in immaculate condition. All you would have to do is freshen up the paint and clean up the blemishes and the car will look immaculate. · All the chrome pieces are still intact. The chrome pillar for the passenger side wheel well is missing and the driver side rear window is missing some chrome. These two pieces can be easily found at a junk yard or on eBay. Easy fix. · The front and rear bumper fillers are there, but need to be replaced as they are not in good condition. These can be found on eBay or the junk yard as well. Easy fix. · Overall, the body is in excellent shape. Only minimal body work needs to be done and this is the main thing that can start digging holes in your wallet when you want to restore a vehicle. Interior: · Has the original interior. · No rips, tears, cuts, cigarette burns, or any other blemishes in the interior. The interior is in immaculate condition. · Power Windows and power locks. · Has a cd player · You don’t have to do anything to the interior. · Has 4 tweeters in the front pillars. · Has 4 6x9’s in the rear deck · Is wired for whatever subs and amp that you want to put into the trunk. Pros: · Overall, this car is in excellent condition for someone who wants a project and to customize and restore an old school classic. · Body has no rust and nothing really has to be done to the exterior or the interior. Cons: · The vehicle does not have a/c. When the engine was put into the car, the installer did not put the a/c compressor back in, nor one of the hoses, nor the bracket for the a/c compressor on the engine pulleys. These parts can be found at the junk yard or on eBay or any other parts website. Easy fix. · The car starts and will run, but one of the bolts that connect the transmission to the flywheel is missing and when the vehicle is on and at an idle, there is a loud popping sound caused by the transmission hitting against the flywheel. This sound only occurs when the car is at an idle. The bolts can be found at a junkyard and connected and the car will run and sound fine. · Other than these two issues, the car runs well. End State: This car is a perfect prospect for someone looking to customize an old school classic.
