Vehicle Detail

Up for Sale is my 1955 Chevy, 210 Model....396 4 Speed. I have owned the car for almost eight years. In that span of time I have replaced the carb. with a 780 Holley, added an electronic ignition, replaced the exhaust system and the rear springs, including new bushings, bolts and shackles. The air shocks are connected on top to a strong frame brace, not through the floor! Brake lines are in pretty good shape, brake shoes were replaced as well as the master cylinder. ( Corvette master cylinder was purchased new.) Switch for the brake lights was replaced. Also replaced were the alternator, electric fuel pump and starter motor. I also just recently installed a new aluminum radiator. During the summer the entire front end was replaced. New upper and lower ball joints, new upper and lower control arm bushings, new inner and outer tie rods, new center link, new idler arm, and a brand new steering box. A plate was welded to the frame under the box to prevent any stress cracks that occur when running a big block in a tri-five Chevy.....I also purchased a set of Chevy rally wheels that are chromed. Tires are in very good shape.....The motor is clean under the valve covers, and runs excellent, and has excellent oil pressure! It is a 396 with a rare angle mounted carburetor aluminum intake manifold! The engine also features roller rocker arms! The rear is a 10 bolt but I do not know the ratio of the gears. I also replaced the universal joint. The car drives well and is very fast. The dash board is complete but needs a speedometer cable. It also has a nice set of gauges and a tach. which were purchased new. The floors have been repaired but they are not original. The holes in the floors have been repaired with sheet metal, .....and a new rug was installed right afterwards. The car needs the interior to be updated, it has buckets and a back seat but should be replaced. I have a replacemnet set of door panels which I will give to the new owner. Front and rear windshields are in decent shape but cloudy in spots. The driver and passenger windows have to be replaced. The wheel wells have been cut for a set of fenderwell headers which are long gone. The body is in pretty good shape .....the only real problem area is the lower left quarter panel and rocker panel. It isn't bad but if the buyer would like to replace it I have the lower quarter panel. There are some areas of rust underneath, including some of the body mounts in the front which is a typical problem in these cars. The inner rockers also have rust holes in them. Also there are several small areas with some bubbling in the paint. The car should be undercoated ....but the frame is in good shape. All in all this is a good solid 60's style hotrod which is what my intention was to make it like when I purchased the car. The only major mechanical issue is that the tranny needs a synchro replaced for third gear....it pops out of third. I do believe that the tranny is an M22 crash box! The wipers need to be repaired, but the electrical wiper motor is in the car and in good shape. I have tried to be totally honest in my description. The reserve price is low for this car, especially since it is a 2 door 55 Chevy with a big block. As you can see from the other auctions on ebay, Big Blocks are becoming harder to locate. A lot of time and money has been invested into this '55... which has made it dependable and road sure! This car is being sold in as is, where is condition with no warranties or guarantees implied!. *Buyer is to make payment through Pay Pal... or cash. *Payment is to be received in "IN FULL" within 7 days before vehicle and transferable registration (N.Y.did not issue titles until 1973!) leaves my property! "No Exceptions!" Buyer is responsible for all shipping and or towing fees. If you can, please come and look at the car before bidding. If that isn't possible please ask as many questions as you wish concerning the car before bidding on it. Please... serious U.S. buyers only!
