Vehicle Detail

Extremely clean survivor! I purchased this car in April 2010 from someone that bought it from the estate of a young El Camino/Malibu enthusiast. As a result, the only history available is mine. I came to find that the car was mostly original. It has a 267 2-bbl, factory Saginaw 4-speed, and posi rear end. A lot of the parts I replaced appeared to be 30+ years old! Here's a list: New Clutch New Alternator New Water Pump New Upper/Lower Radiator Hoses New Heater Hoses New Thermostat New Air Cleaner/Plugs/Wires/Cap/Rotor/Fuel Filter New Coil and Ignition Module for HEI New Starter and Battery Cables New Fuel Pump As far as I know, the car's been in OH it's whole life. Frame is solid as is the core support, inner fender wells, trunk floor and rear wheel wells. At some point, someone welded in new floor pans for the front. All the weather stripping is in beautiful shape as well as the chrome around the windows. The car sat outside last winter uncovered and did grow a little rust. Nothing rusting through, but it's there and I think I caught most of it in the pictures. The car has header's but the cross member needs to be notched to provide clearance for an exhaust. Been running an open header on driver's side. Choke also needs some work. There's a dent in the oil pan but pan does not leak. The left valve cover does but not enough to be concerning. Brakes feel great and the front end is tight. Car came with some cool options: Sports Mirrors Power Windows Power Locks Delay Wipers A/C (Everything's there but not hooked up, no charge) Dual Horns The interior is the area that needs a little help and is probably not all original. The headliner's been removed but all the retainer's are in place. The speedometer looked like it was from an 80 or 81 so I put the speedo from my 79 parts El Camino in it. As a result, not sure of the actual mileage on the car but am more confident in the speedo's accuracy. Door panel's and sail panel's are in surprisingly good shape. They've all been dyed black somewhere along the line. I think the dash is original due the ash tray being offset to the right to allow clearance for the shifter. Steering column is proper column for this car. Both turn signals cancel and key can only be removed in the off position! The seats are vinyl bench that have been redone at sometime and dyed black. All in all, the car's in very good shape. Still runs good, turns heads, and starts a lot of conversations. I've driven it all over the place and have had a lot of fun with it. There's not too many of these 4-speed cars left and in this good of condition. This could be your last chance to find one of these, they're disappearing fast! I think I covered anything but please ask questions before you bid. Email malibu2674@yahoo.com or call Dan at 440-799-1262 Thanks for looking and good luck!
