Muscle that will only go up in price--check out the Mecum Auctions and other online sources for the recent uptick in Trans Am prices. A 1979 Trans Am (with very few miles on it) just sold for $85,000. You won't get that price just yet but with just a bit of TLC, this car could go across the auction block for thousands more than I'm asking. 1979 was the last year of the big block Trans Am's with a choice of the 400 4spd or the 403 automatic. This one has the 403. It's completely rust-free, with very nice paint done a couple of years ago in high quality basecoat/clearcoat finish in the original gold color. Much care taken to remove any trace of door dings, etc. Really straight and shines like new or better! Rare color combo with fresh white interior--yes, it is the original color. Manual windows and locks, AC (needs recharge), cruise, etc. This car runs great and drives phenomenally for a 32 year old car. The Trans Am was the hands-down handling champion of domestic cars of its era. It holds up well in terms of lateral g capability to much more modern sports cars. The strong 403 cubic inch big block V8 makes good power. The tires on this car are a bit oversized so look great but will rub in tight parking maneuvers. Small crack in dash--can be covered with color-matched plastic dash cap at low cost or replaced. I have the original radio in the trunk and it will go with the car. A couple of the pictures were taken before I had the front grilles and badge on and maybe all the decals but they are real nice pictures of the quality of the paint and bodywork on this car so I included them anyway.
