1968 Ford Mustang Convertible Project!!! VIN# 8F03C174xxx from Mustang Beginnings Turn this Project Convertible Into this Beautiful Convertible Description: 1968 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE PROJECT from MustangBeginnings Up for auction is a very complete 68 Mustang V-8 Convertible. According to the previous owner the original 289 engine and C-4 transmission were rebuilt and we have had the car running and driving. We were about to begin work to fix the body on this Convertible, but we thought maybe someone would like to do some of the work to save some money. If the car does not sell now, we will begin restoration as soon as the auction ends, and the price will be much higher when we are finished. The car was originally a Diamond Blue, Ford #921-A but it can be repainted to any color of your choice. Please see the pictures at the end of the auction to see how beautiful it could be. The original top was Black with a Glass Backlight, Originally equipped with a C-4 Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic Transmission, AM Radio, and white sidewall tires, plus a Blue Paint Stripe, it will look awesome when finished to its original specs.. When fully restored, this car will easily sell for $40,000 or more. BODY: The frame of this Convertible is straight which makes it a relatively easy car to restore, but it will need rust repair in the normal places - rocker channels, torque boxes, floor pans, lower quarter, and cowl. The frame rails look Ok. The doors and the hood have been replaced and are in good condition. If you are not up for doing the auto bodywork yourself, we have the experience and the knowledge at MustangBeginnings to do the job properly. The cost for replacing the floors and repairing the quarter is $5,000. Add another $3,500 if you would like the convertible in final paint. Overall this Mustang is a great candidate for restoration because it is so complete, and runs and drives. INTERIOR: The interior shown in the pictures was borrowed from another car, but we can provide all the components needed - seats, dash, dash pad, etc. You will need to plan to redo the interior - new upholstery, carpet, dash pad, door panels, etc. The good news is that you can see what is needed. You aren’t accepting someone else’s mistakes or bad repairs. All the wiring is in the car and seems to be in good condition. Dash is in good shape but the dash pad will need replacing or recovering. The seats will, of course, need to be reupholstered. The rear seats are included as well. The door panels are included, but you probably want new ones anyway. ENGINE BAY: Engine bay is in good condition, and ready for cleaning and paint. The battery bay will need a little work but not much. The 289 ci. engine is the original engine and comes with the original C-4 Cruise-o-matic Transmission. Both engine and transmission were running when we purchased the car and the original owner said they were rebuilt.. BRAKE SYSTEM: The mustang has front drum brakes, but we have a set of disk brakes available for an extra $600 if you want have disks. They are complete, and a great addition to any Mustang. GLASS: The convertible has good door glass and side window glass. The windows roll up and down. The car has no cracks in the windshield but obviously it will need a new top. MISC. This Mustang was built on April 3rd, 1968 on schedule. Mustangs were popular then and they still are today. The Mustang comes with head light buckets, seats, and most all of its parts. I have a couple of contacts for all the other NOS stuff you may need I HAVE 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK AND PLAN TO KEEP IT THAT WAY!
