Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration is this Texas bred 1963 1/2 Galaxie 500 XL "406 3x2 Tribute Car." Original big block 390 4bbl. Z code I mistakedly listed this as a different code and had to end auction early. This car is equipped with era correct, professionally restored. Ford-Holley Tri. power setup. Rare shorty cast iron headers. With new 2 1/2 inch, complete exhaust system. Engine previously rebuilt to race spec. (sorry engine rebuild done prior to my purchase, so I don`t have specifics on internals) I am trying to figure out if this is a early 406 but can only find date code of 3C28 (March 28th 1963) may be a 406 but I would have to say it`s a 390 without tearing it down & measure bore & stroke. a custom valve job was also done on Ford 406 - C3AE 6090C heads dated 12/17/1962 they go along with block date code and are in same era. A new solid lifter Comp Cam grind #FB282S-10 with a intake 282 deg. lift & 285 deg, duration a tolal lift of 571 deg. New Pertronics billet distributor with a 430 open gear 9in. rear end, drum brakes all around & power steering, automatic floor shift C6 transmission. Solid rust free frame with tight suspension & steering , needs front & rear foot wells replaced due to sitting out & water collecting, comes with new repo pans for both. Seat & floor panel supports are clean and solid as I said foot wells rusted because of puddles. All rockers & inner panels solid, looks to have had a few partial patches installed at rear quarters but wheelwells & inner skirts & rear trunk solid. Fenders doors hood & trunk lid are all rust free, will need new rubber seals. New front & rear windows and seals, side windows in good shape with no cracks. Will need new seals, I have a complete used but weather worn aftermarket upolstered red interior including console carpet & trim have just about all body trim, but will need to be restored. A truly low rust southern car with a correct title & tag that has the potential to be a real classic 1/4 mile Sunday stormer. I have a firm reserve due to what I have already invested into this car & the increasing value of an almost 50 year old collectable. The wheels in the pictures are 17inch American torque thrust and are not on the car now I have them and other items for it that can be negotiated after sale. Good luck bidding You are welcome to inspect and encouraged to ask any questions. Down payment 10% must be made no later than 24 hrs. after sale with balance due & confirmed within 5 days I will not accept bids from buyersw with zero or low feedback
