This classic 1998 Vanden Plas is a low mileage V-8 4.0 litre British manufactured vehicle. The interior is in very good to excellent shape with very little wear. This car is mechanically sound and an inspection on 9/20/2011 reveals no problems, however, they recommended replacing the rear brake pads and rotating the tires. There are a couple of parking lot dings and the car could use a paint job as shown in the pictures, The headliner sags slightly in the rear seats and the back driver's side door locks sticks with auto lock but the lock still works..The ashtray cover will not lock. The rear view mirror does not auto-dim. We are the third owners of this car. As the Carfax indicates, this car was in a minor accident before we purchased it. Our understanding is that was it cosmetic in nature and repairs were done. We have not replaced the chain tensioners however we have had the dealership listen to them on numerous occasions and there has never been any noise to indicate a problem. This was also the case with the 9/20/2011 inspection that was done by a private auto shop. We do not know if a previous owner has already changed them and did not feel it necessary to incur the expense to find out. This vehicle has been serviced regularly as can be seen in the carfax report which is available with this listing. This car has been very gently driven; just over 25,000 miles in the past 6 years. The odometer currently reads 75,568 .Excellent air conditioning. Pirelli Tires including spare.Heated seats and climate control in front and back. Harmen-Karden stereo with 6 disc cd changer in trunk. Back seat drop down trays. Keyless entry and valet key. Power locks and windows, ABS brakes, Cruise control, Driver and passenger air bags, Original installed phone. Electronic sunroof This car is still a head turner and gets constant compliments. The paint is not cracked, still shines, but has blemishes. The last three pictures posted are meant to show the condition of the paint. Low asking price is due to paint issues and unknown status of chain tensioners. We believe in full disclosure.
