Vehicle Detail

Here is one of the rarest finds in the vintage exotic car market today. An all-original true investment grade Lotus Esprit Turbo with just 15,760 original miles. This is not only a pristine museum quality collectible but its historical importance is further enhanced by the fact that it is one of the last of the legendary wedge shaped Giugiaro body-styled Lotus supercars made. The condition of this extraordinary vintage exotic truly looks like it came off the assembly line in Hethel, England a year or two ago as opposed to 24 years. The all original paint has that same brilliant shine and is free of chips, dings, or scratches. The car has been stored in a climate controlled garage and has never been exposed to any rain or weather of any kind. Mechanically this car is equally flawless. The handling and performance is as perfect now as it was when it took the exotic car market by storm in the 1980's. It delivers that same powerful surge of acceleration when the turbo kicks in that made this one of the most satisfying and highly acclaimed supercars of its day. The engine starts and runs exactly as new and even the red paint on the valve cover is bright and perfect. The clutch operates flawlessly and the transmission shifts smoothly and precisely. Simply put, this car drives and performs exactly like a brand new one did back in 1987. The interior is finished in black Connely leather and has no tears or stretched stitching of any kind and the carpet is stain-free and just 100 perfect from top to bottom. Most everything about this car is 100% original right down to the exhaust sytem. The only things that have been replaced on it are normal wear items such as the tires, belts, battery, and clutch components. (The original tires come with it and still have most of their tread and they have no dry rot or visible deterioration). The only minor flaws with the vehicle are that the power attenna is not working, the lift arms for the rear hatch need to be replaced, and the a/c needs to be charged. In addition, there is a scuff on the side of the drivers seat(see front left of drivers seat photo) and a small scratch (not a tear just a very small scratch) on the opposite side of the drivers seat plus and a couple of very small pebble chips at the bottom of the front air dam underneath(these are much less than what you would typically see in even a 1 year old super low profile sports car). Other than that, this car is virtually flawless in all aspects. I've owned it since 1998 and prior to that it was one of the featured displays at a collector car museum in Pennsylvania which is where i bought it from. I am now in the process of building a new home and have reluctantly decided to sell it along with a few other cars from my collection(which will be listed on ebay in the coming weeks). This is a rare opportunity to own what is arguably one of the finest preserved vintage Lotus supercars in existence today. Good luck bidding! No zero feedback bidders please!
