Hello, you are bidding on my 1978 German built Rabbit. It presently has just over 88,300 original miles, is accident free, and still sports the original paint. I purchased this vehicle about two years ago from a childrens home where it was donated by the original owner. He had purchased it as a european delivey as noted in the service manual. It even sports a fuel station oil service sticker from Italy in the door jamb. The vehicle was well cared for however it required some work to bring it back to it's former glory. I have spent many hours and dollars on this Volkswagen and it will not dissapoint. It is almost all original including a few small dents/dings and very minimal rust. It is not perfect as it is over 30 years old, however I would not hesitate to take a cross county trip in it! The following has been replaced/upgraded within the last two years/7500 miles: timing belt/tensioner water pump/housing/thermostat/fan switch/drive belt/flushed cooling system with BMW coolant full tune up including cap/rotor/spark plugs/wires/points condenser/ injector seals/fuel filter/set timing clutch cable/rebuilt shifter linkage replaced gear oil and have changed engine oil twice with Mobil 1 installed OEM VW euro GTI cam with new seal and adjusted valves Audi 5000 throttle body Volvo lower air box--needs fitting or ok as is Jetex exhaust system from Sweeden---nearly quiet as stock but with a sweet tone new windshield and seal---needs chrome lockstrip---available here on Ebay new tires brake fluid flushed and rear brakes adjusted euro headlamps with city lights---handmade harness by me with twin relays new fuel sending unit Scriocco center console with new VDO gauges and sender All parts are either OEM or of German manufacture---no junk---all work performed with care Horn is currently not working and the dome lamp does not come on with the passenger door, ok with drivers door. Included are the original owners manual and service book. I also have the original knee bolster, accessory rear window louvre, and an additional driver seat upholstery set. The car is ready to go but could use a clay bar and wax. It is a real head turner and I get compliments wherever I go. Please feel free to email with any questions you may have.
