Vehicle Detail
We like to do these oil in frame customs every now and then....This lovely bike is a 1971 Triumph Bonneville. Non matching numbers, both the frame and engine are 1971. The clear NJ title matches the frame. 2" over hardtail, all welding done by a certified welder using a frame jig. Wheels are redone, new rims, stainless steel spokes and polished hubs. New Shinko Super Eagle style rear tire and a New Avon Speedmaster 19" ribbed tire up front. Rebuilt front forks, new fork tubes, seals, fork boots and O rings. Forks are lowered 2.5 inches. New handlebars, grips and levers. All new Barnett cables. Other new items include the chrome barrel coil, Pazon ignition, Sparx regulator w/capacitor, ignition switch, stretched headlight, headlight switch, cats eye side mount tail light and plate assembly, exhaust pipes, chrome 6" flat rear fender, foot peg rubbers, kick start lever and rubber, shift lever and rubber, gas tank badges, gas cap, petcocks, fuel and oil lines.....you get the idea. The 1971 Bonneville motor is a low mileage super clean motor. The doner bike had just 11,000 miles. We pulled the top end, went through the head, checked the guides, re-lapped the valves and installed new pistons and rings. Inside the motor was spotless! We went through the primary and transmission, anything that needed attention was taken care of. The carbs are rebuilt and spotless inside. New pancake air cleaners and a new K and N breather filter were installed. Engine covers are all nicely polished. The bike also has brand new wiring, all nice and neat. Custom made leather solo seat riding on a Chopper Shox spring set up. The Chopper Shox make this bike nice and comfy to ride. The frame, motor mounts, trees, kickstand and footpegs are all freshly painted using Dupont Chroma One urethane. The gas tank is stunning! Pictures do not show the color or flake accurately! The color is a nice deep red, like candy apple red. Super sparkly red flake over a metallic red base. Glass smooth, super shiny! The bike starts easy, even with no battery. Runs nice and strong, just like a good Triumph should. This bike is good for any size rider. I am over 6' tall and can comfortably ride this bike. The seat has plenty adjustment if it needs to be moved forward for someone of a slighter stature. This bike has lots of high end features but a VERY reasonable reserve!! Our reserve is THOUSANDS less than some of our high end bikes. Please feel free to ask questions. You can call us at our shop 908-464-2288. We are a full time shop that specializes in nothing but vintage Triumphs. Payment in the form of certified check, wire transfer due within five days of auctions end. Cash is OK for an in person pick up. Buyer is responsible for all crating, shipping, arrangements and fees. For our European friends, super affordable shipping shipping to Thamesport and Rotterdam. Please, no zero feedback bidders, unless you contact us to express your sincerity to follow through, your bid will be cancelled. I have described the bike to the best of my ability, however, it is sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied.
