Up for sale is my 1978 GMC Caballero; similar to the El Camino. As shown in video the truck sounds amazing and runs just as good. Has a small block 350 and turbo 350 transmission. Motor and transmission run really well. Paint a "01" on the side as a tribute to the Dukes of Hazzard and drive it home. Exterior: The body on this car has rust everywhere but structural frame is sound, there is frame rust on the rear section holding the bumper up but nothing of concern between the front to the back spring mounts. Windows crank up and down, glass in good condition, lights work, rear bumper hitch is not useable due to rear frame rust. Tires are useable but cracked, I have been driving on them but they should not be used the rest of the year. I can mount a set of good tires on the truck for $150 if winning buyers desires them. The SS package was not actually offered on these cars so assume thats simply a decal someone put on the car. Interior: Gauges work but speedometer acts about 5mph off on the high side. Radio is only am and does not work, a/c and heater blow but I do not feel anything out of the vents. Seat in useable condition, headliner is sagging, carpet dirty. Passenger side floor behind the seat is rusted away exposing carpet padding to elements. Truck interior has no odd smells. When I bought this truck it was not running as the steering column had broke so I bought a rebuild kit and now it works fine. Drivetrain: Motor runs great and has plenty of horsepower. Exhaust really sounds loud when you accelerate. I left a 50 foot burn out on the road today on a test drive. I do not know how to determine if its a posi rear end but prior owner stated it was. Transmission does not slip or hesitate, motor has no leaks or odd noises. The radiator fan shroud should be replaced at some point as it appears to have been repaired multiple times. True mileage is unknown as I'm certain the motor has be swapped in. It does have HEI ignition and I believe an upgraded cam shaft. Terms and Conditions – PLEASE READ!!!
