Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1982 Lancia Zagato. It's a fuel injected 2.0L and the car runs flawlessly after warming up for a minute or two. It comes with practically another whole car worth of parts...seats, doors, motor, transmission, fuel pumps, starter, fan, window motors, grille, struts, rims, tires and 3 bins of miscellaneous parts. The brakes and tires on the car are new. It also comes with a stack of shop manuals and all maintenance records. It does need a little tlc, like securing some interior trim pieces and replacing the glove box knob. There is a new dash cover in place, but it still needs to be secured with adhesive. And it does need some minor body work if you're a perfectionist, but that doesn't mean you can't drive it as is. This car is so much fun to drive - take it out on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and you won't want to go home. The brochure says it "handles like a Ferrari for a fraction of the cost," and it will indeed amaze you. Shifting thru the 5 speeds is a breeze, and you have to watch the speedo very carefully...you'll be up over the speed limit before you know it! Only about 2500 of these cars were imported into the states, so they are very rare...and they are a bit tempramental. You'll have some little idiosyncracies that are associated with this type of car, but if you're the type to appreciate it for what it is, you'll just consider them minor inconveniences...especially for what you'll pay for it! Enjoy! I use it more for afternoon or evening drives and to local car shows. I've never had a problem with overheating. I only ever had to tap the fuel pump once after letting the car sit too long between starts, and there were the 2 or 3 times it just didn't feel like starting, only to fire right up the next time I stuck the key in. As I said, they are temperamental. I really don't want to sell the car, but between the new Harley, the motorcycle club, the swimming pool and the upkeep on those and the yard...there just aren't enough nice days in northeast Ohio to do it all. That and I just practically rebuilt the garage at my rental and it ran into a little more than just the roof and siding I had planned on, so the cash will come in handy.
