Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Absolutely ready to roll! Comfortable seats 8, and still has plenty of room for golf clubs, beach gear, 3 family dogs, or whatever… and still have a 10,500lb+ towing capacity on top of that! I bought this vehicle from its second owner only 8ish months ago. Since then, I’ve personally performed basically ANY of the servicing that is included within the 100,000 mile service (which includes ALL servicing). When the transmission was serviced, there was some friction material found, and codes stored in the computer. It was completely rebuilt. It’s the old school heavy truck 4L80E…It should be good for another 174,000+ miles. The 300HP/355ft.lbs/torque 6.0 engine runs perfectly, and “feels” as tight as new. The truck rides, drives, and performs exactly as it should. It has front/rear air, and it is ice cold. I’ve recently gone through and replaced basically anything that I could find that could possibly need to be replaced or give a problem in the future. I’ve used AC Delco, or an OEM supplier whenever possible. They are as follows: All of the belts All of the hoses (there is actually like 7 of them, including heater, reservoir, etc) All of the pulleys/(idler pulleys with bearings, they are 3 or 4 Coolant reservoir Coolant flush/refill with DexCool coolant Oil cooler hoses (Expensive part ($100+) plus calls for a few hours of professional labor Transmission (complete rebuild) Transfer case fluid with the correct AC Delco blue fluid Rear Differential synthetic fluid Front Differential fluid Greased any grease fitting on the vehicle Turn/multifunction lever (eventually malfunctions on all of them), a $150.00+ part New wipers AC Delco plug wires AC Delco Iridium Plugs (the correct ones, and gapped per the manufacture’s revised gap) Set of KYB gas shocks LT265-75-16 Firestone Transforce AT tires… less than 1500 miles… NEW. 2006 front seats, 100% perfect other than some silly SMALL cig burn on bottom of driver’s Air filter and whatever other miscellaneous stuff. Please keep in mind that probably most used vehicles for sale have not have all of the above stuff recently done... and it's a lot of cost/shop time, that should insure NO cost/shop time in the immediate future. I completely “gutted” the inside. I removed all of the seats, trim panels, carpet, etc. The seats have been cleaned, and the carpet was pressure washed while out of the vehicle. There is nothing on this vehicle that does not perform exactly as it should. There are zero leaks/seeps of any kind… of course not on the driveway, but not when you crawl and look underneath either. It was the fire chief’s vehicle for its first 5 years, and it hauled a family of 7 for its second 5 years. It does not appear to have ever really towed anything, and there is/never has been a brake controller. It has all of the “options” expected, including pw, pdl, cruise, keyless entry, power mirrors, power driver’s seat, plus it has outside temp, automatic lights, rear air (ice cold, front and rear of course), and REMOTE START. (aftermarket, but it uses the O.E. key fob) I'm not sure of all of the 2500's have them or not, but it does have a "Gov-loc" rear differential, which is an aggressive limited-slip. Disclaimers: All of the paint appears to be original, except for the front fenders/hood. I believe one or both of the outer fenders have been replaced before. The inner fenders/frame in front absolutely appears untouched. The front bumper and the rear bumper have been replaced before. Aesthetically, the paint matches perfectly. From its fire chief days, there is a VERY small “shadow” left from some stickers. I honestly didn’t notice it until a couple weeks after I owned the vehicle. Your spouse or your nosy neighbor will likely never see the shadows unless you tell them. No one has noticed it since I have owned it, even when I’ve asked them if they could find anything. They are on the rear quarters, and cargo doors. There are some random screw holes in the back cargo area; from I guess some kind of rack or stuff screwed in. They aren’t noticeable. The rear door panels have a few picks/blemishes; they can be seen in the pictures. I can meet the buyer at Charlotte or Greensboro NC airport… I’d trust the vehicle to be driven anywhere. Clean NC title in my name, no lien. I’d like to have the bank name/check # etc for the check before the final transaction is made, so I can verify that it’s valid. Thanks, and good luck bidding! On Sep-21-11 at 13:57:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Added on 9/21/11 The last photo shows a scuff/scratch close to the back bumper. It's a VERY small ding that is basically the size of the scuff (little larger than a quarter). There is a larger shadow-looking thing, which is a reflection of the white molding around my garage door... it is not a dent. Also... someone asked me about the undercoating/new paint underneath. The vehicle was obviously undercoated when it was new, with the type of undercoating that stays gummy/tacky/never actually dries. It is still on the frame, as you can see in the picture of the center of the frame rail. A little of it has come off, and there is very minor surface rust... as most newer vehicles now have, since frames have a very small amount of paint on them. I didn't like the way it looked in the exposed areas of the wheel wells, since it never looks clean... and the more it is pressure washed or cleaned, it just comes off and looks worse. In those areas, I removed the undercoating with a solvent, ground off the small amount of surface rust, and primed and painted black. I did so with the wheels removed, and right before the new shocks were installed. I have a couple of pictures of that process, and other pictures in general if anyone wants to see them. I'd be happy to answer any questions, my # is 828-228-8946. On Sep-21-11 at 15:32:23 PDT, seller added the following information: ebay automatically filled in "sunroof" as an option.... the Surburban does NOT have a sunroof. Also... it of course has driver and passenger side airbags.
