Vehicle Detail
1979 JEEP CJ5, Less than 90,000 miles Up for auction is my 1979 Jeep CJ5. I've owned this Jeep since 1994 and I'm the third owner. It has the 258 straight 6 engine and 3 speed tranny. Tilt steering wheel, power steering and power brakes. I've always kept it in the barn so it's in great shape. It's never been painted, lifted, no body work, no engine work etc... As far as I know it's all original other than general maintainence. Everything works except the radio and the heater core has been bypassed so there is no heat. Heater cores are less than $100 if you need heat. I have a full top with split doors for the Jeep that hasn't been on in 10 years. It's been stored in the barn, I'm sure the doors would still fit but I don't know about the top. Recently I replaced the two rear axles, bearings and seals... rebuilt the carburator... new battery and solenoid... I've just used the jeep around my farm to check fence lines and such. I haven't even had a tag on it in 7 or 8 years. Brakes and wheel cylinders where done about 3 years ago but less than 100 miles on them. If the Jeep sits for more than a couple of weeks it's a little hard to start, takes some pumping of the gas pedal to get fuel to it but if it's driven regularly it starts right up. As you can see in the pictures there is some rust but it's minimal. Over all it's in great shape and I'd be confident to drive it anywhere. This would be the perfect restoration project or a daily driver around town or the hunting camp. Tires are a little over sized and in great shape. Not real sure what it's worth so I'm listing it as a NO-RESERVE auction. Someone is going to get a great Jeep at a great price. The words getting out locally that it's for sale so I need to reserve the right to sell it and end the auction. $500 deposit through paypal for the winning bidder within 48 hours and the balance in cash when picked up within 7 days of end of auction. Feel free to call with any questions... Bob 386-804-9919. Thanks for looking! On Sep-22-11 at 06:13:06 PDT, seller added the following information: SORRY!!!! I made a mistake in the ad. It should say disc brakes instead of power brakes. I also stated it had never been lifted but it does have shackles on the rear springs. I'm sorry for the misrepresentation.
