Vehicle Detail

1967 Ford Mustang Fastback Project VIN# 7T02S103xxx 1967 FORD MUSTANG 390 "S" Code FASTBACK project from MustangBeginnings If you have ever wanted a 67 Mustang Fastback project that was affordable, This is the car! This is an original V-8, big block 390“S” code car, which came with lots and lots of options. List of Codes and Options: 7 = 1967 T = Built in Metuchen 02 = Mustang Fastback S = 390 - 4V 63A = Mustang Fastback K = Nightmist Blue paint, Ford # 1903-A 2B = Blue Standard Bucket Seats 30 H = Scheduled for build August 30, 1966 17 = Washington Ordering District. 0 = 2.79 Axle Ratio U = C-6 Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic transmission 7.35x14-4 Ply Rated Tires White Sidewall Tires Sport Deck Rear Seat Power Steering Tilt-Away Steering Wheel AM Radio Exterior Decor Group Tinted Glass The original color was a beautiful Nightmist Blue paint, Ford #1903-A. Originally equipped with a 3 speed C-6 Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, it brought buyers into the showrooms by the thousands and Ford’s strategy worked—selling more Mustangs than ever before. When fully restored, this car will easily sell for $60,000 or more. Please take a look at the pictures at the end of this auction, and you will see both the Nightmist Blue color as well as how the car might look if turned into an Eleanor or Shelby Clone. BODY: The frame of this fastback will need some work. There is no collision damage, just rust. Please take a look at the pictures. We cut out the old floor pans, and have added new, but they still need to be welded in. The frame rails are Ok, but the torque box on the drivers side will need some work. Overall this Mustang is a great candidate for a concourse restoration because 390 "S" codes are getting harder and harder to find. INTERIOR: The interior will need to be restored, but it is really the easiest part of the restoration. The good news is that you can see what is needed. You aren’t accepting someone else’s mistakes or bad repairs. All the wiring, instrument panel, seats, etc. will come with the car but will need to be restored. Both front buckets seats are in good condition, but the fold down rear seat will need to be replaced. Typically these are available for about $500. The door panels and dash pad are included, but you will want new ones if you are going for concourse condition. ENGINE and ENGINE BAY: A late 1966 390 4 bbl engine is included, and we can help you find a C-6 transmisson unless you plan to change to a stick shift in which case we can help you with that as well. Please contact us separately for pricing. The engine bay is in good condition, but should be wire brushed and painted. We may do that before the auction ends. BRAKE SYSTEM: The Mustang has front disk brakes and rear drum brakes. They are intact and complete. GLASS: The windshield has a crack in it, but the good news is all of the glass is available new and most people like to replace old glass with new. That way you won't have to worry about scratches or dings, and your new paint job will reflect beautifully in the new glass windows. MISC. The Mustang comes with good head light buckets, seats, and most all of its parts.
