Vehicle Detail

Thank you for looking and please take a minute or 10 to read the information I have provided. It is time to find a new home for my 1959 Lark. First, a little background. I have had it since 1990. I drove it everywhere as my daily driver for several years and loved all the looks it got. Always a conversation starter. While it has not been on the road for many years for several reasons, I have come to realize that no matter how many times I tell myself I'm going to get it back on the road I won't ever have the time to do it so it's time to move them on. My hope is that someone will see the potential in it and put the time in to get it back on the road where it belongs, not hidden in a barn ( It has been stored inside). The 1960, quite honestly, I call a parts car but if the winning bidder does not want it or only wants to take a few parts, I understand. I have not actively messed with the '59 for many years other than to move it around when needed. Please just take a minute to look at the pictures and read all that you would be getting for this low, low price. All I have done is pull it out and blow it off. I have not tried to doll it up or hide anything. Ultimately, you are buying a starting point for YOUR project but it is what it is (both of them) - they are 50+ yr old vehicles and as-is, where is. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS. Details of the '59 2 door hardtop:General: This is the really stylish Hardtop model and all 4 windows roll down as well as the small vent windows in the front doors. Clear title in hand, V8 (I have been told this is not the original motor), Automatic (Flightomatic? - PND21R), Manual brakes, steering, windows. Windshield wipers, 12V electrics. Glass is good all around, Mostly original interior, Original Spare on Rim in trunk (which is solid) + additional original rim (only have 3 of the 4 for some reason), 4 original hubcaps that will shine up really nice. 1959 Illinois license plates (obviously not valid but circa 1959). Good points: Engine ran good but would not fire last time I messed with it. Oil bathed air cleaner, New plugs/wires, distributor cap, rebuilt carb, new heavy duty front springs, New brake shoes in box, New Brake lines in tube. Miscellaneous Info, badges, advertising and wiring diagram. Reverse lights. Most all interior knobs, handles, AM radio (not working), rear view mirror are there. Windows all go up and down but at least need some lubrication. NOTE - I have BUT cannot find an NOS master cylinder and new fiber glove box (I know I bought them so if I can find them I will include them) and any other parts I find once we start to get it ready to go I will gladly include. Known issues: Engine is free and turned over last time I worked on it (8+ years ago) but again. would not fire- may be the coil or fuel pump but ?? There is a patch panel on driver's floorboard but as I remember there wasn't any other rust around it (there when I bought it). Typical Lark front fender rust issues but there are good aftermarket patch panels and fenders available. No exterior trim - don't know why but some previous owner took it off and filled the holes. Brake system is shot but as noted above, I have some of the parts for it. Interior needs attention (package tray, carpet, windlace, etc) but is mostly all there. Passenger door rubs the rear of the front fender but does open (alignment?). Tires- obviously. Details of the '60 4 door:AS IS. I use the term 'parts car' loosely but it is yours if you want it. Unknown on condition of motor but 3 spd manual trans will shift gears. Some good parts but the body really isnt one of them. Some of the trim, interior knobs and pieces, glass, exterior trim, motor, tranny, engine compartment parts, etc- if someone had the time to part it out there is probably a lot to take off. I just dont have the time. I do have a clear title for it. Conclusion:Read the above description, look at the pictures and ASK QUESTIONS. You are getting a starting point for your project with extra parts and information. I have taken as many pictures as I think would best show the good, the bad and the ugly. I am not trying to hide anything. It is a 50+yr old girl and I'm sure there are good and bad things I do not know about her but I am trying to be as open and honest as possible. Details of the Transaction: Shipping/Pick up: Responsibility of the winning bidder. I will be present and will gladly help in getting it/them loaded but that's all I can do. I physically have no way of transporting it/them. I can store them for awhile but all this will need to be worked out prior to auction end. Payment: I require and will accept a non-refundable deposit of $100 via paypal. Balance due upon pickup via cash or cashier check. I will not use paypal for the total amount as the fees from ebay and paypal will take a HUGE portion of the already low sale price. If these terms are not acceptable and you have another idea, please email me and we will try to work something out. Refunds: None. I have been honest and forthright in my pictures and description and any questions or concerns should have been addressed . It/they are 50+yr old vehicles in known need of repair. Please respect that your bid is a legally binding contract and act honorably. I will as well. Feedback will be left- good or bad. Thank you again for looking and have a great day!On Sep-19-11 at 11:59:05 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 9/19/2011 - I have looked for some time and have NOT been able to locate the master cylinder or glove box that I know I have somewhere. SO, at this time I am stating that they are not included but if they turn up I will gladly include them. Thank you. On Sep-21-11 at 13:05:57 PDT, seller added the following information: 9/21/11 - I had a question asked to me and tried to post a reply to everyone but it did not. SO, I am adding that reply. Hello and thanks for looking. Im posting this answer so that everyone can have as much information as possible to make their decision on bidding. Again, Im just trying to be open and honest and not hide anything. I wouldnt want it done to me. Let me first say I am not a mechanic and am describing things only as I see them. I do not have a lift so this was done by me jacking up each side and looking as best I can with a flashlight. I looked under the car in the passenger floorpan area of the car. The trunk was described from looking from the top and in the pics. I wasnt able to get much carpet pulled back but what I did see on both sides appears to be years of dirt and some surface scale. The frame has dirt and surface rust on it but appears to be straight and solid. No obvious damage. The body mounts off of the frame are also dirty with some surface rust but appear to be straight and solid. The underbody of the car appears to have been undercoated some time in the past. The issues I found: the only issue I found on the passenger side floorpan was a small area next to the kick panel right up by the lower front fender. It is rusted through but looks to be localized to that area as the areas around it didnt look rusted and sounded solid when knocked on. The driver side appears to have the most issues. The patch panel I noted in the auction description is bigger than I remembered and I apologize. I covers the flat area where the driver sits. When looking underneath at this area, there is rust. It is hard to tell how far or much but the mount appears to be involved so plan on a new front floor pan for the driver. Behind the driver looked and felt solid with the exception of a very small area right by the door jam. I hope that the information helps and doesnt deter anyone. It has been stored inside but is 50+years old. Please ask questions. Thank you...
