Vehicle Detail
1972 Jeepster Commando Custom Rockcrawler Overview: This is a very unique vehicle because Jeepsters are rare and it has the Wrangler TJ front end installed. This also has a good combination of hard core trail parts that have never been used off-road. I just never got around to using this vehicle off-road. It is intended for rock crawling. I am selling the Jeepster because I have 3 young kids and realized I will not be able to use it for many years on the trails it was intended to run. I spent about 6 years building this in my spare time. Condition: This Jeepster was built with a high level of attention to detail. It was done very cleanly without loose ends or questionable parts. The paint looks very good from a few feet away but if you look closely you will see a few imperfections. This Jeep was not driven on the highway but was driven on the road around town regularly. Vehicle is sold “as-is” with no warranty. There is one chip in the windshield. The transmission will need a rebuild at some point as it is a little slow to react when you put it in reverse and require a little extra throttle, it also drips slightly. The body, frame and steering box are the only original parts and those have 85,000 miles on them. All parts that are listed as new have 1,500 miles on them. Front axle and transfer case have not been in 4WD. What needs to be fixed: It has a random stalling issue that I have not been able to pinpoint, it will restart after a few attempts, the parking brake does not work and there is some slight bumpsteer on certain road conditions (steering stabilizer may help to absorb that movement). No offers for trades please. No joy rides, serious buyers only. I spent over $10k just on the engine, front axle and transfer case. This is a very unique rock crawler that would cost quite a bit to duplicate even if you did most of the work yourself. Clear Colorado title, not previously salvaged. This did pass CO emissions but I cannot guarantee the same in other states. Please keep in mind that this is a highly modified Jeep with many aftermarket and custom parts. This vehicle is not going to drive like a stock Jeep and may not be as reliable as a stock Jeep. Not responsible for any loss or damage caused by this vehicle or its parts. This is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I will help to arrange transportation but buyer must pay all freight charges. I am fair so let me know if you would like to make some other payment arrangements. $500 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT REQUIRED WITHIN 3 DAYS AFTER THE END OF THE AUCTION. CAN BE SENT VIA PAYPAL AND THEN I WILL REFUND IT WHEN FULL PAYMENT IS MADE. BANK CASHIERS CHECK PAYMENT REQUIRED IF NOT PAYING WITH PAYPAL (I PREFER NOT TO HAVE THE FULL AMOUNT PAID THROUGH PAYPAL AS THE FEE IS HIGH). FULL PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED BEFORE CAR IS PICKED UP. IF FULL PAYMENT IS NOT MADE WITHIN 7 DAYS THE DEPOSIT BECOMES NON-REFUNDABLE. EMAIL WITH QUESTIONS REGARDING PAYMENT. I AM FAIR AND REASONABLE. On Aug-03-11 at 19:26:59 PDT, seller added the following information: The factory Jeepster hard doors and hard top will fit on this Jeepster. The aftermarket soft top available today will also fit on this Jeepster. If those are added this Jeepster would seal up for inclement weather.
