You are looking at my 1970 OPEL GT project car. I purchased this car from a gentlemen in New York State several months ago and have lost interest since I can't get the car to run. I was told that the engine ran fine when the previous owners father was attempting to restore the car. The son ended up with the car and decided not to continue the project. I have rebuilt the Weber carb that's on the car, changed plugs and wires, ran a compression test on the motor, changed oil and filter and can't get the motor to run. The car will back fire but not run. The compression first pass was 135 which is enough for the motor to start and run. All plugs fire so I have no idea why the motor wont run. I also attached a seperate fuel tank to the carb to make sure it was getting fuel. As I said I have no idea why it won't start. The car is only showing 38,910 miles and this could be actual since it's been in the previous owners family since 1984 and not titled.The body needs some work but all and all it isn't to bad for the age of the car. The interior can be used as is unless you want to get the 2" seam split in the drivers side seat back repaired. This car would make an excellent drag car for those who have the ambition.
