FOR SALE: 1955 FORD F350 FLAT BED TRUCK THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN IN MY FAMILY FOR OVER 56 YEARS. MY GRANDFATHER BOUGHT THIS TRUCK NEW FROM THE LOCAL FORD DEALER IN 1955 FOR HIS EVERGREEN NURSERY BUSINESS. IT WAS IN DAILY SERVICE FOR 20 YEARS. (THIS IS THE ACTUAL TRUCK I LEARNED HOW TO SHIFT GEARS IN AT AGE 15!!) WHEN MY FATHER BOUGHT THE BUSINESS IN 1975, HE USED IT FOR 3 MORE YEARS THEN REPLACED IT WITH A LATER MODEL TRUCK. HE THEN PARKED THE ‘55 IN THE GARAGE, ONLY TO DRIVE IT IN LOCAL PARADES. I PURCHASED THE ’55 FROM DAD IN 2002 AND STARTED TO RESTORE IT. THE TRUCK HAS THE ORIGIONAL 223 STRAIGHT 6 CYLINDER WITH 125,000 ACTUAL MILES. THE ORIGIONAL TRANSMISSION IS A 4 SPEED WITH A 5.14 GEAR RATIO. THE BED IS A FORD FACTORY BED WITH THE FORD SCRIPT ON THE REAR MEASURING 7 FOOT WIDE AND 9 FOOT LONG AND IN GREAT CONDITION! THE ONLY OPTION IS THE SELF CANCELING COLUMN MOUNT TURN SIGNAL LEVER!! I EVEN HAVE BOTH ORIGIONAL IGNITION KEYS FROM WHEN THE TRUCK WAS NEW!!!!! ALL THE FLAT GLASS HAVE CRACKS IN…EASILY REPLACED AT A AUTO GLASS SHOP WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN GREAT WINDSHIELD IN PERFECT CONDITION THIS TRUCK STARTS QUICKLY AND PURRS LIKE A KITTEN. THE ENGINE IS STOCK EXCEPT FOR THE 12 VOLT CONVERSION. IT SHIFTS AS IT SHOULD AND DRIVES WELL. I STILL WOULD NOT BE AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK ON LONG TRIPS. THE TRUCK BODY IS NOT CHOPPED UP OR ALTERED IN ANY WAY. THERE WILL HAVE TO BE SOME BODY WORK DONE AND BODY RUBBER REPLACED. PLEASE REFER TO THE PHOTOS. BUT FOR THE MOST PART, THIS IS A GOOD RUNNING SOLID TRUCK WITH LOTS OF EXTRAS! I CAN NO LONGER AFFORD TO KEEP MY TRUCK DUE TO HOSPITAL BILLS AND I REALLY HATE TO SEE IT GO. THE DECESION TO SELL IT HAS BEEN A HARD ONE. IT HAS GREAT SENTIMENTAL VALUE TO ME. EVEN MY WIFE IS SHOCKED THAT I AM SELLING IT!!! THE NADA CLASSIC CAR PRICING GUIDE HAS THIS TRUCK VALUED AT $5400.00 LOW RETAIL VALUE. I AM ASKING MUCH LESS THAT WHAT THE "EXPERTS" SAY IT IS WORTH!! FYI::::THE CABS ON 1955 F100, F250 AND F350 ARE ALL THE SAME SIZE. YOU COULD CONVERT THIS TRUCK TO A F100 IF YOU WANTED TO!!!!!On Sep-14-11 at 11:28:08 PDT, seller added the following information:I have had several requests for photos of the seat and stake racks...... The seat is from the rear of a 1990 F350 Crew Cab and very simular to the stock seat. and the back tilts forward. ........When I pulled the stake racks out of storage, several of the boards were not acceptable to sell. So I replaced EVERY board with new kiln dried southern yellow poplar. I used New bolts, washers and nuts to attach the boards to the stakes and used the origional stake hardware elsewhere. I wasn't planning to rebuild the stake sides, but there you go!!!
