Vehicle Detail

Over 20 Pictures below, but please read description before biddding: This auction is for a 1999 Chevy Venture Minivan. Van drives well currently on trips around town. Starts great, brakes work fine, engine is pretty smooth, idles well etc. The transmission is generally smooth and operates as normal. However, it needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Going on a 5 or 10 mile trip you might not even notice, but once it gets warmed up and or you take it up to highway speeds, the transmission begins to shift hard going up the gears, at its worst it can be quite jerky. This has been confirmed by a local transmission shop, it is reasonably stable now, but a matter of time before it goes. The statement from them about the error codes is: PO453 EVAP PRESS. SENS. SIG. HIGH/OPEN. PO742 TCC CKT. STUCK ON. P1811 MAX ADAPT. Now, I don't really know what all that means, but the tech assured me that it isn't good, damage has been done. So, the new owner will either be taking chances on driving this home, (I was driving it on 200+ mile trips earlier this year) or should have it towed or transported, etc. Aside from shifting thru the gears, the van operates normally, doesn't make noise, overheat, smoke etc, again, it 'runs' well. Once you get over the transmission, it is pretty nice. Engine runs smooth and strong, has never given me any trouble, has always started even on the coldest mornings. Alternator and belt has been replaced a few years ago. New tires on the front just last fall. Interior is quite nice, looks more like 70K than 170K miles. Some staining on the floor, few small burn marks in front carpet. Otherwise the inside is very nice. The rear seats were almost never used. Last owner had them out for a handi-capped child and I used this as work vehicle, hauling small items mostly on the highway. The rear seats looks great and the front two are not bad either-no rips or damage. All the arm rests, seat belts and adjusting levers all work. One exepction: the seat behind the drivers seat appears to be stuck in that position, the lever and dial to adjust it don't feel right. It will slide front to back ok. All the rear seats are removeable, that can be somewhat of a task and takes some time and patience-like said, I left them out till photo time. Power driver seat controls work fine. Cruise, radio, power locks and 4 windows all work. Power mirrors work. Front wipers ok, rear wiper does not work-bad motor I assume. Rear defrost is 90% working. This vehicle has AC, but, I charged it last summer, it lasted about 2 days and the freon leaked out, so there is a leak somewhere, currently the air is not working, but it might just be a small hole in a hose-the compressor did work last summer. As it expected with these miles, it does leak a little oil, but doesn't burn any. There is a crack in the windshield behind the rear view mirror, about 18", this stems from a botched chip repair. There is small rock chip on the bottom passenger side of the windshield-it really should be replaced. The rest of the glass is fine, rear is all tined. All four Power windows work fine-rear window fan open about 2". The headlights, turn signals, brake lights are all currently working. Just last year I replaced both of the front turn signal and headlight housings-completely. Brakes are ok, but probably due for pads, some squeaking occasionally. The ABS light was on when I bought this 5 years ago, it stays on almost all the time-never given me a problem. Front suspension rattles a little when hitting a curb at an angle or a pothole, again no problems but probably needs some attention. This vehicle needs transmission work, but it has been maintained, regular oil changes, plugs and other basic maintenance as it was required. At this point, it is a great opportunity for someone who can 'fix' the transmission as this van has lots of life left. There is some typical mid-western rust along the bottom of either side, not terrible but noticeable. Also you will see the photos of where somebody slid into the van (rear drivers side door and rear quarter panel) last winter during an ice storm. I have made no effort to buff or fix that body damage. Doors all work fine, power sliding door (on passenger side) opens and closes smoothly with the remote-a very handy option indeed (I only have one remote). The drivers & passenger interior door panels are a little loose, I am trying to think of any other quirks, but please send any questions. It has 170,000+ miles, it isn't perfect, but better than average as far as looks. It has been raining on and off for a week and more on the way, so I just gave up on washing this, it will clean up Nicely. *It has not been washed in some time and will look much better after going thru the carwash. Located in Fort Wayne, IN, about 3 hours from Chicagao, Detroit and Indy. This is a great chance to pick this up van at a NO RESERVE auction, anything above the opening bid and it is going to sell. Don't miss if you are interested....no games here. I would like for the van to be picked up within 30 days if not sooner. Payment must be recieved within 7 days of auction. If you come to pick up the van and find that it was not represented fairly, a full refund will be available. I am sure you will like what you see. PLEASE EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING, I WILL DO MY BEST TO ANSWER THEM ALL, Thanks! some scratches on passenger sliding door: 1/2" or so chip: crack in windshild: far and away the worst spot of rust: Since these photos I did wash it and some of the whiteish paint rub came right off: + The seat back on this captain's chair is stuck in that position, will slide front to back: I forgot to mention, this is the LS version, it has many options. Thanks and good luck, gonna sell-NO Reserve!
