Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1965 Catalina, it has the original 389 2 barrel engine which runs great, the transmission was recently rebuilt (turbo 400). The car runs and drives fine, steering is nice and tight, no wandering going down the road. The odometer shows 75K, and appears correct although I have no proof. The radiator was recently replaced, as well as the water pump, timing chain, belts, hoses and T-stat. It also has new dual exhaust, and windshield, also the rear glass has been resealed. The original manual is in the glove box with the protect o plate, this car sold new from Causley Pontiac, which was in Detroit at the time. I do not have much history on this car, but it looks like it was stored in a garage for a long time, the trunk floor is in very good condition for a Mi. car of this age, only needs a minor repair on the passenger side. The floors and frame are very solid, I could not find any weak spots. The original color was white, with a red interior, at some point it was painted black, looks nice but not show quality. I replaced the original bench seat with bucket seats and matching rear seat from a 65 Ventura, seats are black. Dash is nice original, never been cut up, dashpad is not cracked, all side panels in very good condition. My plan was to recover the seats in red, I do still have the original seats and they can go to the new owner if wanted, but they will need to be recovered. I also added the 421 fender emblems, I think they look much nicer than the stock Cat. emblems, and fit in the same mounting holes. Overall this is a nice Catalina somewhere between a "Driver" and Show car. I believe the Catalina is dependable enough to drive long distances (over 1000 miles). I also have a complete 1968 428 I was going to put in this car that would be available to the buyer at extra cost. Thank you. Reason for selling - next years tuition for my kids-, hope they return the favor someday?
