Vehicle Detail
I am selling this 2010 Audi Q7 3.6 S-line with 20,500 miles. I am the original owner and I purchased the vehicle from my local Audi dealer on 12/19/09. This is my third Q7, and the reason that I am selling is due to the birth of a 4th child. While the Q7 is an exceptionally versatile vehicle for a family of up to 5, I found it to be too small for a larger family with extensive carpooling needs. So we bought a Suburban. We will really miss this car, as it is both practical and beautiful. Unlike other SUV's, the Q7 provides access to the two, third row seats via the middle seat in the second row, which can be left down for "captain's chair" feel, or left up for bench seating for 3 in the middle row. Fully loaded, the Q7 can haul 7 passengers, plus cargo in the rear. Ultimately, we found this configuration flexibility was much better than competitors such as the X5. Regarding engine options, my prior Q7's were both the 4.2 liter V8's. I was somewhat apprehensive about moving to the V6, but felt it was worth a shot given the improved fuel economy. While the V6 doesn't have quite the power of the V8, it is perfectly sufficient, and if I were to purchase again, I would buy the V6. I special ordered this car with a color originally reserved for the Audi R8, Mugello Blue Pearl Effect. In person, it is stunning. Coupled with the xenon lamps (new to 2010 Q7's), the car is simply gorgeous. I have been very fortunate to own some beautiful and exotic cars, and I can truly say that I received more compliments on the Q7 than some other "fancier" cars. This particular Q7 was also ordered with the S-line package, which is a must-have for the Q7. It includes 20-inch rims, brushed aluminum decorative inlays, s-line steering wheel with shift paddles, s-line front and rear bumpers and side valences, and headlight washers. If you compare pictures with a standard Q7, you will see that the S-line has a much more aggressive looking front fascia, and is a much better looking car overall. I also purchased the Premium Plus package, which includes Audi MMI and Navigation (updated for 2010 models), xenon, Bose surround, advanced parking and rear camera, memory seats, and panorama sunroof. I also ordered the towing package, which it turns out I never used. Additional standard features include dual-zone climate control, leather, bluetooth, Sirius, rain-sensing wipers, six-disc changer, ipod integration, power tailgate, curtain airbags, and 4-Year 50,000 mile warranty. I also purchased the vehicle with Audi-care, which covers all maintenance through the life of the warranty. According to the Audi-care document, this coverage stays with the vehicle. Original MSRP on this Q7 was $57,225. Condition is outstanding. The vehicle has never been involved in an accident nor had any paintwork. I am meticulous about my vehicles, detail regularly, and maintain them very carefully. The paint is in outstanding condition and there are no visible door dings. There are some very minor blemishes that are nearly impossible to detect via photograph. They include: minor scratches on rear bumper, 3 minor scratches on driver door (approximate length 1 inch each), a small scratch on the rear left quarter panel, a small scratch on right rear quarter panel under gas lid, and some small rock chips on front hood and front grill. All of these blemishes are noticeable only upon very close inspection. Slightly visible by photograph is a small dent on right rear quarter panel. Three wheels have no curb rash, and the front left has very minor curb rash, which is visible in the photograph. Conservatively, I would estimate that the tires have approximately 35-40% of tread life remaining. Interior is all black, and in excellent condition. Mats show minimal wear. In the third row, there is some gum (1 inch by 1 inch) that is dried into the mat. Otherwise, interior looks very clean. I always attempt to be as candid as possible when describing vehicles that I sell. This Q7 is not brand new, but given the 20,000 miles, it is extremely clean. Q7 Strengths: 1) Gorgeous. 2) Intuitive MMI system, versus maddening BMW iDrive. 3) Flexible seating. 4) Ride and steering. Q7 Weaknesses: 1) Third row seating great for kids, not so great for adults. 2) Decent range, but wish gas tank was a bit bigger. 3) Heavy. In January, Car and Driver tested the Q7 3.6 S-Line versus the X5, MDX, LR4, and GX460. Audi finished first, with following verdict: "Designer Interior, athletic character, quiet at all speeds, autobahn ride quality, precise steering, and long haul comfort". I have sold numerous vehicles on eBay. While several have sold after the auction conclusion, two have sold via the auction and have been eligible for feedback. As you can see from my feedback, I sold a BMW on 07/22/08 and a Maserati on 06/24/07. I live in Virginia, and in both cases, shipped the vehicles to the West Coast. It's always easier to pick up a car in person, but shipping is really not a big deal. I would be happy to assist with shipping arrangements, though this remains the financial responsibility of the buyer. If you look at other S-Line Q7's for sale (or non-S-Lines for that matter), you will find prices close to $50,000, if not higher on 2010 models. I have set the "buy-it-now" price at $46,999, which I believe is very competitive given the condition, and uniqueness of this car. The Mugello Blue is worth every penny, and for what it's worth, I've priced this Q7 for less than suggested trade in value on KBB.com. I have all keys and books, and hold full title. I have advertised the vehicle locally, so while I hope to run the auction to its conclusion, it is possible that I would sell the car if I found a local buyer. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 804-305-9743. Thank you for taking the time to view my auction. Sincerely, Steve
