Be sure to read the description in its entirety. Up for auction is a 2000 Mazda Miata. The Miata is the best selling sports car in the world and one drive in one and you'll see why. They are nimble, quick, just plain FUN little cars. Unlike most sports cars, they do not use a big engine, turbo systems, or other expensive to repair and maintain parts. If you drive it hard, you can have a blast; if you're light on the gas, you can get better mpgs than a boring econo-box sedan. This Miata has had some tasteful cosmetic modifications, but the engine and transmission are still how Mazda built them. The car is in very good condition overall. The red paint on this Miata has no peeling and the clear coat is still intact. However, there is a factory defect in the red pigment that has created a frosted look to the paint in several large areas including the hood and trunk. It does not look like bad paint, and is still smooth and shiny. It is not obvious from a distance, and up close, is very interesting looking. The black convertible top has the usual wear along the top seam that has been expertly patched. The alloy wheels have been coated in black to match the top and interior. The tires are very good, with lots of tread left. The interior features black cloth bucket seats. They are in good shape and have not been torn or deformed. The plastics are all in good condition and there are no scratches or gouges in the dash or plastics. The Sony aftermarket CD player was properly installed with quality speakers and remains clear and audible even with the top down cruising at speed. The A/C blows cold. The 1.8L engine in the Miata is quick and rev-happy. The transmission shafts smoothly and the clutch grabs firmly. The suspension is tight and does not knock or wobble. The steering is quick and responsive, but has a very slight pull to the right. (Not enough to be bothersome or warrant an alignment, but I like to be thorough in my descriptions.) If you are looking for a sunny day cruiser, weekend fun car, or want a good starter car to get into racing, this car will not disappoint!
