Vehicle Detail
This listing is for a 1973 TRIUMPH TR6 and countless additional parts. I recommend grabbing a cup of your favorite beverage before proceeding as this is a long description. When I was a teen I had 7 Triumphs and was a huge fan of these cars. I very likely avoided all of the typical troubles of that age because all of my time was taken up with my cars. Sadly, by the time is was 20 or so, parts had gotten so expensive (for me at least) that I left the hobby and sold off all of the cars. However, I never lost my love for these cars, so 20+ years later I purchased this TR in late 2009 and have been restoring it since. During the past couple of years I have also purchased several parts cars and collected all of the good parts so that I could restore the car and keep plenty of parts, "just in case". It was never my intention to sell the car, especially after having put so much time, money and work into it. However, my personal circumstances being what they are, I must sell it. I will try to be as descriptive as possible, but there are just so many extra parts that I can't go into detail on every little thing. If there is something in particular that you would like to know, please feel free to ask. If you are near Miami and want to take a look at the car in person, you are also more than welcome. 1) FRAME/CHASSIS: The frame has been media blasted, reinforced, primed and painted. It has new springs, shocks, bushings, etc. The rear brakes are rebuilt, but the front have not been done. The Engine, Transmission and differential are mounted on the frame and were in good working order when I took the body off. I removed the carbs in order to facilitate removing the body, but they are of course included. Bumper mounts and engine cross member have also been media blasted, primed and painted. In order to finish the frame, you will need to complete the front brakes, install soft brake hoses, install rear transmission mount and driveshaft. Other than that, the frame is pretty much ready to go. 2) BODY: The body is at the paint/body shop and is sitting on a 1971 chassis with Enkei rims. This other chassis is in good shape overall, but has rust at the right front. However, I have yet another chassis that can be used to reapir this one. The body is complete with all panels, fenders, hood, doors, trunk lid, PVC tunnel cover, and the front windshield. The hood, doors and fenders have little to no rust. However, the trunk lid has the typical rust along the leading edge, but it is repairable. The driver side rocker panel is in good shape, but the one on the passenger side need replacing. But, that is not a problem since I have another one to replace it with. In fact, included in this auction are three (3) extra hoods, one (1) extra door, one (1) rear clip (with attached 1969 id plate), one (1) front apron. These are extras, in addition to the car itself. I also have (2) front grilles, all lights, pedal cluster. 3) INTERIOR: The interior has of course been taken out for body work/paint. However, I have all of the panels and seats, carpet, dash support and all other parts. The interior is in good shape with two exceptions. First, one of the seats backs is "flimsy", and the frame may need repairing. Secondly, the PO installed the door panels using screws instead of clips, so there are holes around the perimeter. However, with a good cleaning, the interior will be completely useable. The dash is complete with all of the gauges. The wooden dash could use a little repairing in one corner, but I was going to use it as is and it's not bad at all. The convertible top is also complete and useable, although it does has the typical tear just above the side quarter windows. You can easily patch it and use it as is. The top boot is also included. 4) EXTRA PARTS: This is where it gets really overwhelming since there are so many extra parts. I will do my best to mention what I think is of significance. Again, feel free to ask. The chassis that the body is mounted on is complete and rolls and has the differential installed. There are also (2) radiators, (2) differentials (including one '69 with the earlier gearing), (3) hoods, door, lots of door glass, (6) rear lights, (4) headlights, (4) front sway bars of varying thicknesess, (1) top frame (missing header), (2) steering columns, (2) pedal clusters, (2) brake booster, (2) wiper motors, (6) aluminum trailing arms, (1) gas tank, (4) complete fron suspensions, (1) fiber-glass tunnel cover, (6) rear lever shocks, (1) gas cap, (2) rear hubs, (1) front windshiled surround (no glass), (1) chassis (yes, another one - but it's cut in half as I was going to use it to repair the '71 frame), (2) brake master cylinders, countless other small parts, switches, bulb holders, wiring harness sections, and lots more. I have done my best to be as descriptive as possible, but I may have forgotten some things. Please fee free to ask questions. At a minimum, you will get what is listed, but believe me there is plenty more still. As noted in the listing, the body of the car is at the paint/body shop which is closed today. I will be going out this week to take photos and will add them as soon as I do. I will also be adding to the list as I go unearthing parts. Remeber, the car is currently apart and therefore NOT driveable. If you need pcitures of anything in particular, please fee free to ask. Shipping or Pick-Up is the buyers responsibility. I recommend a pick-up truck with a 2-car hauler. One final note on a personal level. My wife and I are expecting our fourth and fith child, yes twins! So with that in mind, I am asking that potential bidders consider their bid carefully as I do not have the time nor money to waste on scams. On Sep-06-11 at 07:20:22 PDT, seller added the following information: I was able to get out to the shop yesterday and get pictures of the body and all of the panels. The floors were media blasted and primed and are solid with the exception of some minor holes that will require patching. The battery tray area and driver side A pillar will also need patching, but they are structurally solid. needsAll four fenders, hood and trunk lid are present. The dash is also visible in the pictures and is complete. NOTE: THE STEERING WHEEL THAT IS IN THE PICTURES IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE AUCTION. A STOCK STEERING WHEEL WILL BE PROVIDED. I also had time to sort through some more parts. I found four (4) complete early rear bumpers, some better than others. They are useable, but strictly driver quality having dings, dents and scratches. I also found a complete used exhaust, several driveshafts, an additional rear-left fender (with some minor rust at the lower edge). With the exception of some small parts, you should have everything necessary to put the car back together with plenty of extra parts left over. You could probably even make your money back just by selling the extra parts. On Sep-06-11 at 07:25:07 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that I have replacement original TR6 metal for all of the body sections that need repair. Also, the passenger side "red" door is rusty, but there are two replacement doors that are rust free, which are the ones painted flat black. On Sep-06-11 at 07:28:13 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: The line that reads "needsAll four fenders, hood and trunk lid are present." is a typo. The word "needs" should not be there but eBay won't allow me to correct this. The car does come with all four fenders, hood, trunk lid and doors.
