The La Grange, Illinois Police Department is selling the following vehicle: a Silver 1999 Lincoln Towncar Signature Series Sedan with the mileage of 140,815 miles. This is a seized vehicle and MUST be disposed of according to Illinois law-it must be sold in an auction-type setting such as eBay and there is no Buy-It-Now option. The vehicle has air conditioning in good working order, a sunroof, cruise control, digital dashboard display, an AM/FM stereo with cassette player and a 6 CD changer. The cruise control and stereo may be controlled from buttons on the steering wheel. The vehicle has power windows, locks, and seats (lumber), however, the passenger side rear window will not go down. The leather seats are in fair condition and are heated (unknown if working-we didn't try them). All lights/signal lamps on the vehicle appear to be working. The front driver armrest is also a storage compartment. The vehicle has the original owner's manual (in the glovebox). The vehicle has a hydraulic air cushion system: when the car is off, the rear drops down close to the ground. When the engine is started, the rear end raises. The vehicle seems to run fine, has a good spare tire, and comes with a remote (will need a battery). We took 24 X 9 inch tires off this vehicle and are selling them separately. In turn, we placed brand new tires on the vehicle. The buttons for the lumbar support on both front seats will need to be re-mounted (they are loose). The driver's side window/door controls is loose. The service engine light is illuminated (unknown why because vehicle seems to run fine). The vehicle is missing molding on the left rear corner. There is a dent in the passenger rear/slight bumper damage. Paint is chipping in a couple of places, specifically the front and rear bumpers and a couple corners. There are also a few minor scrapes on the rear bumper. the vehicle was seized in August 2010 and garage-stored since. The vehicle may need a new battery soon, although it has been starting right up for us. This vehicle is a seized vehicle and must be disposed of according to Illinois law-it must be sold in an auction-style setting such as eBay and does not have a Buy-It-Now option. The vehicle is being sold AS IS and with no existing warranty, neither express nor implied. The winning bidder is responsible for the pick up of the vehicle or making arrangements with a private shipping service. Due to the vehicle being sold AS IS and with no warranty, we suggest potential bidders view the vehicle in person, as there may be defects that I am unaware of. Bidders are responsible for having an independent inspection completed at their own cost prior to bidding if they desire. All sales are FINAL and there will be no price adjustments given.
