Vehicle Detail

1970 Chevelle, Big Block 396, Auto (Turbo 400), 12 Bolt Rear, Craiger SS Wheels, Power Steering, Power Brakes (Front disc) with lots of extras (see pictures) There were 3 bids above $6800 the first go round but the reserve wasn't met so I'm starting at $6800 and it's a NO RESERVE auction. Good Luck! The car obviously started as a Malibu but has most of the parts to convert it to an SS. I'll do my best to describe the car and all its components. It's been a couple years since the motor was done so I don't remember everything. I'm looking for all the receipts of what I purchased for the motor. I do have the receipts for the rebuild so I can provide that if you're interested Motor was completely rebuilt by Eddings Engines in Sun Valley CA. There are about 100 miles on the Motor. New Comp Cam, Pistons, Rings, Roller Rockers, Push Rods,Water Pump and Power Steering Pump. Basically everything but the Crank and Rods were replaced. Heads were also rebuilt with new Springs, Seals and Stainless valves. There is an Edelbrock 600cfm carb on the car currently and it will come with a Holley 750 cfm. Not sure of cfm of both carbs but I think it's correct. I can research the numbers on the carbs if it's important to you. It has MSD ignition and Hooker Headers. The motor was a 68 from what I remember. The block was decked so the numbers are gone. I do have it written down somewhere and will post the number when I find it. Trans was opened up by a local transmission shop and seals were replaced. A shift kit was also installed while the trans was being checked (no neutral safety switch). The front end was rebuilt while the engine was out. All new bushings, shocks and brake lines. You can see from the pictures that I've collected quite a few parts for the car. Most notably are the 1970 (green) gauges and full wiring harness; including under dash, engine compartment and trunk harness from a 70' or 71' Chevelle. The circuit board on the back of the gauges will need to be replaced. Additional parts: New rear side marker lights, front bumper lights (not new), windshield wiper motor and arms (no blades), second set of hood hinges, Holley carb, chrome headlight rings and a bunch of chrome trim pieces. Most of the trim has what appears to be glue on them. Some of it is in pretty good shape and others are pretty beat up. There are duplicates so I'm not sure if there is a full set of trim or not. There is one set of SS emblems and two 396 emblems for the front fenders. I have a set of original SS rims with two SS caps. The rims are in Rough condition but come with the car if you want them. Also a new set of Sun gauges (oil, water and battery). Outside the car: Sheet metal is in good shape with no real problems from what I can see. Floor pans and trunk are solid. The front fenders are factory and it appears the rear quarters are original. There is one spot in the lower rear passenger wheel well that has a half dollar size hole. The rest of the well feels solid so it should be an easy fix. I've scratched through the paint in every place I thought looked suspicious and haven't found anything worth noting (that's why there are black primer spots on the car). That's not to say that there couldn't be a problem somewhere that I didn't uncover. I sanded both front fenders down to original primer (metal in some spots) and sprayed them with rattle can black primer. It definitely needs a good body man to align panels and prep the body for paint but overall it's pretty straight. Also, the lead where the rear quarters meet the roof is bubbled and needs to be removed and filled with body filler. The hood is a reproduction cowl hood with a flapper (no flapper). The front wheel wells are fiberglass. It needs a new front bumper and the rear bumper has a dent so that'll need to be fixed or replaced. Inside the car: The interior is in fair condition for its age. The seats and door panels are in pretty good shape, headliner and package tray in the rear are relatively new. The carpet is really faded and the dash pad is cracked. Radio is missing and the hole is covered with a sheet metal panel. The rear of the front seat panels and front kick panels look like they were green at one point and were painted black. It doesn't look too bad but worth noting. The front seat belts are green and the rears are black. The whole interior of the car may have been green or at least some of it was replaced from a green car, it's hard to tell... I think I've covered most of the highlights but if you have any questions or need more info don't hesitate to ask. If there is any way for you to take a look at the car in person it would be preferred. The car has tons of potential and I hope someone will finish what I started. The vehicle will NOT ship until all funds have cleared. This Vehicle is being sold "AS IS" with no warranty of any kind.
