Vehicle Detail

This is a Speed Yellow 1995 993. It is the last model year with the original air-cooled Porsche engine. All subsequent models are water-cooled. The single owner was a Porsche driving bachelor and now is a married father of eight so the car has not had much use over the past few years. The car looks great and runs, but needs work. All maintenance has been performed by the local Porsche dealer. There is a brand new battery, brand new front brakes and a brand new shift linkage asssembly. The dealer recently found additional needed repairs that will be discussed below. The exterior is in very good condition. There are 17" alloy wheels with the multi-color Porsche crest insert. There is one rust spot below the rear window on the right. The stone guards are cracked and dirty. The interior is original and also in very good condition. Interior features include a leather steering wheel, wood shift lever, heated front seats, and electric front seats. There is also a dealer-installed disconnect switch for the passenger air bag that allows a child to sit in the front safely. The original tools, spare tire, keys and manuals are included. The AM/FM radio works however the factory-installed 6-disc CD does not function correctly. It may be a wiring problem, or may need to be replaced. The A/C fan works but does not blow cold. It may need recharging, or a more serious repair. A gasket in the steering wheel needs repair so that the horn does not spontaneously sound. Unfortunately, Porsche no longer makes the parts so the dealer's only solution is to replace the entire steering wheel at a cost of $3800. There is a rigged solution with a small rubber washer that has eliminated the problem. The passenger window can be opened from the switch on the driver side door but not closed. It has to be closed using the passenger side switch. The car runs, but not to its maximum potential. The clutch needs to be replaced. The dealer estimate for the repair is $3000-$4500 depending on the need to replace the flywheel assembly. The dealer also found leaks from the rear dive shafts with a repair estimate of up to $2400 if the shafts themselves need to be repaired. There is an oil leak from the engine. This is a beautiful car that with some investment can be brought back to an excellent condition. It has the potential for many more miles of pleasurable Porsche driving. Please feel free to contact seller with questions.
