Vehicle Detail
This is a classic 1942 Chevrolet Streetrod Pickup. The pickup has been restored to its current condition, with much work done, and needs to be finished. Much of the body work has already been done, but the final body work and painting is needed. Rubber seals need to be installed around hood and doors. Some of the interior (painting door trim) needs to be finished, but upholstery and carpeting is completed. Otherwise the pickup is completed. The pickup runs and drives nicely, and doesn't smoke when starting or driving. The pickup handles nicely on the road, at all speeds. The pickup has been driven around 2,000 miles, since restoration. This 1942 Chevrelet Pickup is setup on a 1991 Chevrolet Suburban chasis, with the 1991 Chevrolet suburban drive train. The pickup is 2 wheel drive. The engine is a 350 V8 Fuel Injected, with automatic transmission (700R). The pickup has power brakes, with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. The pickup has dual exhaust, extended out driver's side rear of the pickup. The pickup is setup with towing hitch and functioning plug for trailer lights. The tires have good tread and appear to be nearly new. Headlights, tail lights, brake lights, and front and rear signal lights are functioning. The pickup has a horn, that has a classic sound ("beep, beep"). All gauges, including fuel gauge, temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, and speedometer are functioning. The interior upholstery of the pickup is mostly finished, with light gray bench seat, light gray headliner, and blue carpeting for the rest of the interior. There is a console with working lights, mounted in the interior roof of the pickup. The pickup has a nice playing FM stereo, with two speakers in corners of cab behind seat. The wiper, for the exterior windshield is installed and functioning. All glass is intact and in good condition. The front and rear windshield are new. The pickup has a flat bed, with diamond plate aluminum sides, chrome bed rails, a diamond plate aluminum toolbox, and a chrome rear window visor. There is no existing rust or rust holes in body. Chrome (stainless) trim, that goes on both sides of the hood, will be included and is inside the pickup. The pickup is being sold as is. The seller will not be responsible for anything further, once the pickup is sold to the buyer. The transport and/or delivery and costs of delivery of the pickup is the buyer's responsibility and the seller will not be responsible for any costs involved. The seller will assist in the loading of the pickup, for transport to the buyer. I am selling this pickup for my dad who lives in Clinton, OK. The pickup is currently at El Reno, OK, where I live. Please feel free to email regarding any questions. Please feel free to make an offer. Only serious offers please. If you are not going to follow through with the deal, please do not waste your time or mine. Once an offer is made and accepted, following through with payment of the vehicle and transport or delivery must be prompt and thorough. No waiting for response, communication, and payment of the vehicle will be tolerated. The pickup would make a very nice street rod pickup for somebody to put the final touches on, and add or change anything they wish to. Much of the hard/labor intensive work has already been done. The pickup is dependable and hasn't been noted for leaving one stranded. In cooler weather, I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere. The pickup does run at a higher temperature (230 deg. F maximum) in extreme hot weather (100 deg. F plus). This is strictly due to the pickup's smaller radiator, and it being difficult to fit a larger (wider) radiator in the nose of the pickup. The temperature never gets in the red, nor does the pickup spew or spit out antifreeze due to greater temperature. The temperature runs lower in cooler weather. I think a thicker radiator with more cores, such as a two or three core radiator would take care of the problem. Also, possibly an electric fan mounted in front of the radiator would be a big help. The fan is currently on the engine.
