Vehicle Detail
THIS IS A RARE AND AWESOME FIND ! This 1969 Mustang convertible is in great, restorable condition. It is very solid, and with the exception of the spots I photographed, it's great. The engine sounds great just like it is. It will need the carb rebuilt, but it fires right up and idles smooth and quietly. No funky noises, just smooth running. No overheating issues either. It has only been driven short distances around work, but the more it runs, the better it gets. Besides being a very collectable year, and being a convertible with a V-8, it also has the factory 3 speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly. I think a good body person could have this ready to paint in a weekend. Of course, its not something you can drive today any distance. It is a solid car that deserves a little love. It should get some body and paint work, then an interior redo, and obviously a convertible top. Mechanically, the engine, transmission, and rear end are sound, but could use some cleaning and regular maintenance. I have the trim tag info decoded and will update the ad when I get to work tomorrow. Also, if you need additional photos, please ask and I'll try my best to put them in the listing. IF you would like to see the car in person, I encourage it. There's nothing to hide here...it is what it is. You can email me at ILOVEITGC@hotmail.com . THE GOOD PART: It's solid and pretty much complete. To a restorer, it's a great find. To the average person who wants to do his own, you couldn't ask for better. Mustang restoration parts are readily and affordably available. A little body work, and it's ready for paint. The underneath of the car is very solid too...no need to repair anything except the rear floorboards. Because the top had a few holes, the rain water ran to the rear because the car was parked slightly uphill in a driveway. The rest of the car underneath is very usable like it is. The tires have tread, but are old. The wheels are in great shape, just not my favorite style. It's missing a piece of molding on the front of the hood, but everything else is there. The trunk is solid, and overall, a great car to start with. If you don't mind the cosmetics, you could have it on the road in a day with a little bit of work. THE BAD PART: Missing the driver's door glass and door panel. Top is in bad shape, but the frame and bows are great. The top goes up and down smoothly. Interior needs replaced, but the seat frames and dash are in good shape. Body is in light primer, awaiting the new owner to finish. Car was a rare Jade Silver color, but repainted red sometime awhile back. I was told it was bought new and owned for many years by a local doctor, then the second owner let it sit and it became what you see. This is a rare find. It will make someone very happy in the condition it's in, and especially after it's finished. It is being listed to be sold. NO games, NO crazy offers, and best of all ---- NO RESERVE! High bidder will own it, so if you bid, be prepared to follow up and pay for it. Storage for up to a month is free, and I can assist with loading it with a shipper you have arranged and paid for. It starts, runs, and stops, so no issues there. Clean, clear title in my name...on hand and ready to hand over once funds have cleared. Please ask all questions prior to bidding. Please have your money ready. Please ask your wife before you bid. No bad luck stories if you win and can't pay. These ads cost money, so please don't take it upon yourself to waste mine.
