This wagon spent its first 47 years in dry Arizona and 2 years in San Diego where I purchased it. It has now been in Georgia about 5 years. The best thing about it is that it has all of its original sheet metal and it is all rust free. I don't mean repaired to be rust free either. The current paint is about 3 years old and before it was applied the old paint was completely removed to bare steel including all the door jams. There was only one damage repair area located on the right rear quarter panel. The spare tire well is still solid with original paint and you can see that it there has never been any rust in this very rust prone area. Almost everything on the exterior has been repainted, rechromed or replaced. Windshield and door glass were replaced. The interior was reupholstered in black cloth with white vinyl trim. All interior window frames were repainted too. Carpet is new. The engine is, I think, the original 265 V8. It is stock except for having an alternator rather than a generator. It has all new tune up parts and a new 2bbl carb. The radiator is new this year. The transmission is a turbo 350 rather than the stock hydro-glide. It drives and rides just fine. Other improvements include new exhaust, shocks, brakes, new fuel sending unit, new am/fm radio and speaker. What it needs; although the tires have decent tread, they do not match so I would say it needs tires, and hub caps. There is an annoying squeak in the front end that I can't identify. The whole front was rebuilt right after I bought the car at a price of $2900. The speedo works but a couple of the little gauges don't. The heater did not work when I got it and I didn't try to fix it because I knew I didn't need it where I live and I dont know what is wrong with it. Looking for a late model Harley-Davidson.
